"We the people" are a collective idiot. The politicians just have to placate that to get elected.

Spending will not get addressed, some global financial emergency will be required for "reset." The people are too happy with the current status despite what we say on message boards.

Trump complained the deal his admin negotiated didn't spend enough, too.

Slowing the growth of inflation and stimulating wage growth and overall GDP growth is very doable. Trump was able to achieve some of this in his first term, so its possible. No one expects things to get "cheaper" per se, but buying power could improve even if it doesn't.

It sure AF wont happen if Biden is re-elected. I can promise you that.

We may only just be beginning to feel the inflation from Biden's spending, which is the scary part.

And the Fed still says they are going to try for 3 rate cuts this year. Insane.

Why did trump push for more Covid stimulus payouts?

quote:

Unsatisfied with the $900 billion stimulus deal that Congress passed on Monday, Trump urged lawmakers to amend the legislation, and threatened to oppose it otherwise. “I am asking Congress to amend this bill and increase the ridiculously low $600 to $2,000 ... and to send me a suitable bill or else the next administration will have to deliver a Covid relief package,

I can't believe they'd do it, but we shall see.

I don't need my dog to tell me he's a dog. When you constantly lay blame on one administration while biting your tongue off over every frick up of the current administration, your reputation eventually precedes your mouth.

Only because sycophants, ignorants, and MAGAbaws keep lying about that administration.

If they posted more truthfully and more rationally, then we could have real discussions. It's gotten kind of boring having to bring all these threads back from fantasy land into reality.

It will take longer than that to straighten out the finances of America. Without doing so inflation of today will seem petty compared to 5 years from today

Well, we won't have to deal with utter bullshite like the "Inflation Reduction Act", which was just a bunch of Green bullshite rammed through by the Democrats, that hasn't saved anyone anything, and hasn't changed the climate in any way.

At some point, we have to have the hard landing. No one wants it to happen under their watch, and so they keep kicking the can.

I would argue this goes back to the term of Clinton. Policies made caused 2008 meltdown which brought on Obama’s crap and the expenditures going forward. Sprinkle in a 2001 crisis and a few NSA-CIA FBI massive intrusion worldwide and you have yourself a shitshow

it would be less upsetting if you were more honest and less one-sided about your bitching and blame, which was the crux of my original point that you completely ignored.

sort of odd for the fricking self-proclaimed TD harbinger of truth, isnt it?

Right. people like SFP and Roger (who are confirmed gay lovers) will point to everything Trump ever did that may have contributed in part to inflation, and never discuss the trillions printed under Obama and Biden, the housing bubble, the credit bubble, or the supply chain crisis hastened by the current administration, or the derelict handling of the nation's energy portfolio, trade disparities, or the awful performance by people like Jerome Powell (who still hasn't seen enough evidence of inflation btw) and Janet Yellen.

Clinton had the last budget surplus on his watch.

It started with W spending trillions state building in Iraq after we were attached by Afghanistan. That is when our debt to GDP ratio starting going off the chart never to return to sanity.

you dont want inflation as high as it is because your company isnt giving you a 50% raise over two years.

Rt now gas in Louisiana is up 64%.

So while i dont think grocery prices are coming down, you dont want them rising as fast as they have under biden.
