I'd like to see these studies.

Local. How is this a question?
Posted on 9/28/23 at 6:22 pm to theunknownknight
Because the state and federal government mandate educational policies and have been since the 1960s.

I linked one in a comment on a previous page.

And education has gone to shite since then
Again, where’s the question?

Show me where the federal government was given the task to educate the population...

The Federal Government oversteps their boundaries in almost every area.
But
We fought a war over this and we lost. So until a war is won that’s how it’s going to be.

Maybe not, but it absolutely would result in the death of shitty schools with shitty teachers, shitty administration, and shitty parents.

Dates correspond with unionization of teachers too. Coincidence?

Local school systems have become little communist soviets. Public education should be banned in the State constitution.

I enjoyed how TX did it. The school districts were independent school districts. In Frisco, the residents voted in bond elections for school improvements, changes etc. So the locals determined how good or bad the "facilities" were and resulting staff.

False.

So if the people of Ascension parish, or Zachary, or Brusly don't like the curriculum, or certain teachers' methods, they can voice their opinion to the principal and school board. People hate it, but social media gives them an opportunity to organize against the Progressives.
If that doesn't gain any traction, leave and or homeschool. At which point if you homeschool, you should be credited the same as any other child credit for use of a public school.
We saw an involvement like no other with PTA meetings and such around covid. Remember the DOJ warning about all those domestic terrorists?

So all I hear is you asking a question about government schools. How about every child gets the same amount to be applied to the school of their choice? I’m not talking vouchers. I’m talking you want to go to some art school and learn, so be it. You want to go to trade school when you’re a teen, there it is. You want to go to a religious school, that’s your choice.

The same logic can be applied to grocery stores, mechanics, surgeons and lawyers.
Make all those government owned and if there’s a problem you can always go to the Brusly Grocery Store Board. I’m sure it will work out great.

Education is mostly about the parents and how well the kids are raised. That’s more important than the quality of teachers and facilities and the curriculum.
I teach at a public school. I teach the same subject four times a day. I have two advanced classes, one general class, and one general/supportive instruction class with a para. With a few exceptions, I basically have my best 50 kids in two classes, my next 25 in another, and my last 25 in another.
I could take my best advanced class outside in the middle of a downpour and get more across to them than my general classes with all the tech you could want. And it’s primarily because they have been taught some discipline.
I had to e-mail the mom of one of my worst kids earlier this year and when I looked up the address it was borderline profane. You can recognize the problem right then and there. Kid doesn’t have a chance.

Where? In what ways, specifically? I’m not plugged into national news but I’ve never heard of a public school calling for the abolition of private property.
