And if you live in 70808 in BRLA WHO IN THE HELL ARE OUR CANDIDATES?

I’m so confused. I don’t even know what district I’m in anymore. And I am way more politically informed than most people.

The GOP has done a totally shitty job of selecting and running their candidates. And the Democrats who are pissed that they can’t have 2 democrats (cough black people). All I know is that Clio isn’t running.

The election is in November. I legit have no idea who is running in which district.

Does anyone have any idea?

I think you shouldn’t be allowed to vote if you can’t figure this out

Do you not have a state election website you can enter your deets and easily find your district, sample ballots, polling places and results?

SC does… I imagine you do too.

Louisiana does. For all the stuff Louisiana government gets shite on for, and probably rightfully so in many instances, the Louisiana Secretary of State website is pretty user friendly.

Louisiana SOS and Louisiana Department of Natural Resources for looking up wells, operators, etc. is amongst the stuff LA government does better than many other states I've tried to utilize similar systems for.

To be fair, qualifying just ended last week.

Here are the 5th (north Louisiana) and 6th (Baton Rouge) congressional candidates:

Chauna Banks (Democratic Party)
Patrick Forbes (Democratic Party)
Lindsay Garcia (Democratic Party)
Monique Appeaning (Republican Party)
Larry Davis (Republican Party)
Rick Edmonds (Republican Party)
Michael Mebruer (Republican Party)
Blake Miguez (Republican Party)
Rufus Craig (Libertarian Party)

Miguez is a prominent state senator from the Lafayette area. He has Trump’s endorsement, but doesn’t live in the district.

Edmonds is a state senator from the br suburbs. He’s a god and guns evangelical preacher type.

Chauna Banks is a corrupt former metro councilwoman black democrat. She will be trying to pitch herself as a business friendly moderate, but she’s a hate-whitey racial huckster.

Larry Davis is a young black conservative who is also an evangelical preacher type from LP. He’s a personal friend of mine, so I’ll probably be voting for him in the primary though I doubt he has much of a shot.

I don’t know any of the other candidates.

Patrick Forbes worked in the Jindal and JBE administrations and is endorsed by Bel Edwards.

Yeah...that's unfortunately how it does, especially races above just a parish council or maybe State Rep. seat. The candidates I happen know and from my personal knowledge at least believe are truly good guys or gals end up not having a shot in hell for offices like Governor or Congress. I'll still pull the lever for them the first round, but then it's usually stuck between a piss sandwich and a shite sandwich by the time the runoff rolls around.

C’mon man! Use your favorite search engine! Also download the Geaux Vote app. It’s all out there - I assume that you can use your phone to look up stuff. After all - you posted here!

Sounds like there are three viable options. Don't live in BR but hope a good guy wins there.

The 5th will likely come down to Stewart Cathey and Mike Echols.
