During the riots in Milwaukee and Portland there were some periscope reporters talking to protesters. One lad said he took off from his college and was given money to go protest.
I did not save the videos. But people were saying at the time these folks had to be being funded by someone and it was true.

They get a lot of money from such organizations like the ones funded by Soros. They also get money solicited from individuals over the internet. They receive seed money from overt political organizations.
They also receive money from corporations and businesses who think they are donating to innocuous causes, like a food bank or a holiday food drive, or for clothing for the homeless. That money is routed through charitable sounding entities and used to feed the protesters and rioters and to purchase supplies for them, like outdoor and camping gear, flares, etc.

Technically I suppose they're not "unemployed" per se, since they're getting paid to travel around and protest/riot wherever/whenever it's deemed necessary.
I've seen enough evidence at this point that I know there are plenty of people that are on video attending subsequent protests in Portland, Seattle, St. Louis, D.C., Atlanta, Minneapolis, etc... different protests/riots, same paid actors.

A lot of the protesters and rioters arrested in Atlanta this year have been funded by such organizations. Almost all arrested are from out of state and this is what they do for a living, traveling from place to place with a little money and direction. A lot of them are angry, disaffected people with mental illnesses and addictions.
I still want to know who was strategically placing pallets of bricks along the path of BLM marches in 2020. It seems like that would be easy to track down if the powers that be were interested.
And hired rioters played a huge role in the fall of the Roman Republic. It's eerie just how closely we're reliving those days.
