Whitmer has pulled off the world’s largest hostage situation. It’s pretty impressive.
And yet there will be many who flock to the polls and vote for her again. It's amazing really

Is this because some rogue guy came to their state and refused to wear a mask? Good choice, he was probably infected and spread the virus all willy nilly.

Serious question: what are the numbers there?? I have zero idea.
Andnis this her first term and If so no way in hell she comes close to reelection.

Lol Michigan is cucked. The state house showing is meaningless at this point.

I'm scrolling through the subreddit, and yeesh. My favorite comments are the "I like working from home, I can't believe other people are mad about it!" ones. I don't condone child abuse, but I would probably hunt down my kid for a good ol fashioned arse kicking if they were ever that out of touch with reality.

Oh wait until those people start crying realizing working from home has them more leashed to their work than ever before.
A few things are likely to happen out of this remote work stuff 1. Promotions for new people will slow down. 2. Work will bother you with longer hours meaning more expectation to check email and field calls because one people will work on different schedules and two you can’t escape. 3. They will find themselves stuck in a job that burns them out.
Reality will eventually set in for these people that think working from home is all great no bad side to it.

People just want to do normal things things eat a meal, drink a beer at a bar, play tennis... just mundane stuff.

My company opened up last week and I've been back there 4/5 days.

Please God, make Gretchen Whitmer the democrat VP nominee.

I have no clue when we will be back in office. They are really slow playing this.
I have a feeling a lot of the firms that have multiple floor offices are angling for a way out of the current leases. We won’t see major firms completely leave office space but it’s going to shrink down a bit.
A lot were already starting to lurch towards this with hoteling metrics and trying to figure out how people flow in and out of office.
I’m waiting for them to send an email telling us we need to return to our desk and get personal items and we will all be remote/hoteling in the future.
I wouldn’t mind 2/3 or 3/2 going in office to remoting.

I think the people talking this shite up don’t have kids at home and/or a spouse who is furloughed and has their schedule all fricked up as a result.
Focusing in the office is bad enough. Having to remind multiple kids “Don’t come in here and bother me until X time” is fricking annoying.
Telecommuting is good with regards to hours (cuts about an hour or so of drive time out of my day) but those trade offs are still major issues.
