Sorry, but Republicans didn’t start crying about Voter ID laws because they are just so exceptionally principled. They did it because they were losing elections. While preventing fraudulent voting is a part of it, suppressing turnout is as much or more a reason. If you disagree you are being willfully ignorant.
By the same token, Democrats are not some great protector of virtue for opposing voter ID laws, or other voting rights matters. They are doing so primarily to avoid losing/win elections.

This has been out a while and it’s astonishing. The condescension and - I can’t believe I’m quoting Bush - ‘soft bigotry of low expectations’ by white liberals. They live in an affluent, white, Democrat bubble where they never come in contact with actual minorities, but they claim to love and support them. They literally think black folks can’t find their way to the DMV or courthouse or how to use the internet. Disgusting.

Are you saying black people don't do normal American citizen things like apply for credit to buy a car, house, or a student loan where they have to have an ID and give documentation?

I actually took a little time to skim the article, it raises a lot of questions but draws no actual conclusions. Nice try.
ETA: the article says 99% of eligible voters have ID which makes it hard to conclude that any voter suppression that results from voter ID laws would be significant. Especially when you compare to the potential for voter fraud if ID isn’t required. No logical person can possibly conclude that voter ID laws suppress voters, minority or otherwise.

I read the study you linked. It sounds like BS to me. They admit themselves IN THE VERY FIRST PARAGRAPH that most studies show that voter ID laws do NOT suppress the ABILITY of minorities to vote.
But THESE researchers have done a study that shows that it does. Okay. Most studies still show the opposite. I think you have 3 Leftists here who knew what results they wanted before they ever asked the first question
