White flight is bad. Property rates fall. Taxes fall and taxes fund schools and infrastructure. New white areas retain economic power to tax themselves appropriately to have good schools and infrastructure. Areas they flee from fall into disrepair and the areas deteriorate into crime riddled areas.
It's not as simple as that, obviously, but that's it in a nutshell.

A lot of these areas deteriorate to where white people don’t want to stay, thus becoming unsafe before the flight occurs.
Maybe the fricking problem is poor people / shitty culture destroying areas and chasing out people? But they won’t admit it.

see Prichard Ala..1970..today just arrested water board manager for embezzling $3Mil by using company credit card for Gucci, Louis Vitton, etc. All the while water bills were outrageous..The woman had a $15000/yr position. no qualifications. Who hired her

"White Flight" and "gentrification" are both racist. Can't leave crappy neighborhoods and can't class trashy ones up...

i'll be very curious what happens. we bought our very flawed 80 year old house in 2009 for $100k.
remodeled the whole thing in 2020 and post remodel appraisal (personal, not for tax purposes) is $300k. my tax rates the last 5 years have been 60k, 65k 70k, 103k, 83k. a block over is $250k, $220k, and $180k for houses in about the same shape.
i'm sure we'll get hit, but i live just a 2 blocks from the nicest houses in the hood and there's a block of rentals (i.e. section 8) in between that keep me insulated.
if the CAD goes scorched earth on the whole neighborhood, those renters and thus the rentees are going to suffer.

Without even realizing it until after I'd moved, I left a town in the South where blacks make up around 40% of the population to a town in the PNW where blacks make up 0.5% of the population. It's pretty freaking awesome.

they have a point........i mean, look at all the black NFL players, NBA players, MLB players, rappers and actors that struck it rich and continue to live sketchy areas.....use them as the example to stop white flight!!!
