Neither are crappy trade agreements. Tariffs are going to be painful, but long game is they will be better for our economy.
I really don’t understand the backlash on this. No one can dispute that we were getting raked over the coals and milked by the EU, China, and our oil deals. Trump is acting like a businessman and the better our trade agree, ents, the better our economy, the better we help our own citizens.
This is one of those situations that the left should applauding. It is hard to provided consistent social services when we are a broke country.

Leftist have always been tariffs supporters. Looks like Trumpsters and the leftist are on the same team.

My plant employs a little over 1000 people. My division is about 250 of those. My process manager told me today that if raw material prices keep skyrocketing due to tariffs that our division would probably shut down and our jobs gone. My job of almost 15 years gone. Plant has been in business almost 70 years and this could literally cripple it. Its devastating.

Should have kept their arse in Ft. Smith supporting America instead of moving to Mexico and supporting them.

They going to downvote you for telling them things Hannity didn't.

These desk jockeys on here that sit in a cubicle and stare at a computer screen don't know jack shite. "Oh its good business" "the art of the deal". frick all of them. A lot of us factory workers and machine operators are going to get fricked without lube.

Seems like :
A) They're purchasing material from the wrong countries/country.
B) Poor decision making is costing them money
C) Someone is looking for a scapegoat

And that would not be a worry if so many businesses hadn't moved out of the states. If you don't appreciate the fact that Trump is trying to save jobs like yours, then your type jobs will be even less in the future.

The ignorance in support of these tariffs is staggering.

Get out of here with that Trump saving my job bullshite. My company has been in business since the early 50's and we are a world leader in our industry and this has never been an issue. Never. People are going to lose their jobs. I don't care about this long game narrative. Working class people's focus is our job and our family. Right here, right now.

Are you people down voting the American company Whirlpool for saying steel tariffs are hurting them or are you real free traders and down voting them because they lobbied for and got tariffs on washing machines and raised their prices??
I’m downvoting you because you are annoying as frick and get obsessed with topics and spam this board. You’ve done it for years.

Would you be willing to accept short term pain for long term gain?
I always think this attempt at logic is comical. It's easy, for example, for someone in a state that doesn't have a Whirlpool plant to ask this question...in other words, someone who doesn't have to feel that short term pain.

I'm looking forward to when you get banned for starting multiple threads about the same damn thing.

Trump is picking winners and losers based on promises to a narrow band of workers who have little understanding of economics.
Yes, some companies will thrive, but the others will suffer
People hated when Obama played these same "vote buying" games

Yes, but you're supposed to be willing to suffer this "short term pain" for the long term good of the country.
This whole "short term pain" thing with Trumpkins...it's just like proggies and their wind farms: NIMBY.

Quit trying to make the case the new taxes are bad!

There is a difference. Where the left loves tariffs, Trump is using them to get to not having any tariffs. If our trade partners would agree to no tariffs they would be gone.

The American Wire Producer Association is predicting 13,000 fabricated metal jobs could be lost. One of those could be mine along with my coworkers. That's 13,000 working class people. People trying to support their families.
