re: Where’s all the staunch conservative candidates?

Because there are divides within American Conservatism that make being an across the board staunch conservative as a politician basically impossible. Ie there are American conservatives whose identity is built around a completely free market, there are American conservatives whose identity are primarily concerned with individual liberty, and there are American conservatives who want to live in a country where everyone subscribes to conservative Christian lifestyles. All of those things can work as a broad alliance, but there are deep disagreements that come to the forefront when having to advance actual policy goals. MAGA has the advantage over a staunch conservative because it has a distinct worldview that it advances which is national populism, the idea that the state should work at the behest of rural Americans. Now that’s not going to get the Chicago school free market types because they like being able to move money around freely and tend to live in suburbs, and it’s not going to appeal to individual liberty purists who don’t like having soldiers in the street or strict rules about how you have to present yourself in public. Now those groups will still generally vote MAGA because every compromise they have to make for the Trump administration is offset by a trade they would have made with a Democrat administration. The free market guys might not like tariffs, but they would have been paying taxes on their capital gains. The individual liberty guys might bristle at soldiers or ice on the street, but they also know that they aren’t coming for them and now betting is legal throughout the country. What I’m saying is any subset of conservative groups can do well just by being honest about what it seeks to accomplish. At worse you end up losing a few voters at the margin in exchange for enthusiastic support from the folks who are with you.

Like Hannity or whomever can be a staunch conservative because his job is just supporting whatever the Republican Party is at any one time. He can be full neocon and then full tea party and then full MAGA and it works because he’s just doing a job. It’d be a lot harder if he was trying to govern

It is time to come to the realization that the GOP has become nothing but a well funded opposition party. Rattle sabers and give a good soundbite is about all.
How can you be the opposition party when you control all three branches of the federal government as well as a (slim) majority of state governors? The GOP has a lot of issues but it is firmly in control of choosing its own policy priorities

Losing primaries, to red hat populism and elon cash.
In what states and/or districts did this occur?
Give some actual examples.

Their only example is Massie and excuse being Jew money but the same people who say that have no problem with people like DeSantis who has received the same money. Just like Massie helped Ron on his campaign and had no problem with Ron receiving money from AIPAC and Miriam but Trump doing it is a problem.

There is a difference between wanting the government to fix everything for them and wanting them to correct the train wreck they caused with our money.

They were happy to give us a healthy dose of Bushes, McCain, Romney and had us teed up for yet another Bush (Jeb!) as our “conservative candidates” when voters finally said “Nah, been there, done that” and opted to go in another direction.
They’ve mostly been sulking over in the corner since 2016.
WTF? They are in Trump's cabinet and his best buddies this time around.

Do you realize how many young voters were lost by fighting Massie?
Do you realize alienating what were conservative podcasters cost the Republicans this election cycle?
Your my way or the highway is the reason so many republicans are sitting out, voting third party, or turning to the democrats.
Fools like you are literally driving voters away.
The only way the Republican Party stays relevant is if they become a more diverse party and stop this foolish thinking. Reagon was popular because he achieved much and gave a little. Clinton was popular for the same reason.
Republicans have got to find a way to reach out to Latino and young male voters. We have given them no reason to support us.

Ahhhhh....just the tip, eh?
You do realize that hardcore progressives/communists say the same damn thing.
AT some point you to realize that yes, government IS the problem.

End of the day Trump is the president of 330 million Americans not a party. I have no problem with him doing what’s best. The bell curve shows the far right and far left are the problem of this country holding back the majority of Americans. Which are led by politicians who make each side the enemy.
If you mix shite and water, you get shite water. "Bipartisanship" is why we have this insanely bloated and out of control federal government.
We need poll tests so fricking bad.

Right now bipartisanship is to stop Trump which has led to further problems. I was speaking in a perfect scenario to where our officials in Congress actually worked for we the people.

Politicians aren't the problem. They are a symptom.
Our unbelievably retarded voters are the disease. Easy to point the finger at politicians, and trust me, I do it often, but none of this shite is going to improve unless there's some magical way to "disenfranchise" tens of millions of voters.

Learn to read slight sarcasm. Yeah, I am kinda serious, but not really.

Staunch conservatives are blocked at every turn from running. The establishment certainly doesn't want them.
Kennedy was making phone calls to block true closed primaries in LA. He knows that the conservative would win if only republicans could vote in a Republican primary in LA.
It's also hard to get the money needed. You fight the machine, the swords come out.

Oh bullshite if people put the fate of midterms on Trump then it’s just more excuses why they haven’t got out there and done it themselves.

Oh look. You managed to sneak in another puny jab at Trump while ignoring the core issue. Or the core issue is beyond your grasp. Either way, I see this type of dullard reflex reaction regularly from your ilk. But it's really clever this time.
