The next step in this is "there is no proof any of these animals were ever anyone's pets."

There's a reason they said "pets". Snatching up strays and ducks & geese from the local public park is technically different than grabbing Mr Whiskers out of someone's back yard, but only slightly more desirable.

Just remember, the same people telling you this is a hoax were telling you Aurora was a hoax.. until it turned out to be true.

Migratory bird laws. If white guys did this they'd already be in pound you in the arse federal prison. Aliens do it... no credible reports.

Which part, specifically? I'm usually pretty succinct.

It seems the cat-eater you're specifically referencing was probably not Haitian. There are other accounts though. The Ohio AG is investigating. There have also been murders, rapes, etc. But let's just focus on the "fat" cat-eater, and put our trust in the truth telling PPP. That about sum it up?

This is the Snopes CCL technique. If something is true that you want to suppress, you find the wildest version of the story, pretend that's the only story and question the veracity.

What's the observation about human nature you think you're making?

This has all the makings of a moral panic.

That people lie when it suits them. This seems to be especially true for public officials.

If you believe they don't, that's fine. I do think it makes you naive but there's no crime against that.

They just aren’t addressing it. The web is FILLED with accounts from citizens, even photos. There are dash cam vids from other towns where police catch them in the act. It’s happening, and denying it is stupid.

These people are getting flown into these small American towns with little jobs and infrastructure and can’t fricking afford food in this arse economy. No one should be shocked by this. Hell, the Vietnamese immigrants in my area used to eat the Muscovy ducks that lived in our park. This is real.

I think JD shouldn't be asking people to spread these rumors without any credible reports.

Do you disagree?

That doesn't matter. When the narrative shifts, they don't full-on shift into "well, he was right" they go into "he was still technically wrong because..." and then after enough time has passed and no one cares about it anymore, it's quietly reported straight but without any mention of how their presentation was the false narrative.

I get it baw. The web is FILLED. Social media panics are always filled.

These things turn into vigilantism or even pogroms if people aren't responsible. We can get into history and even modern social media panics that turn violent if you like.

Shouldn't politicians hold off until there are credible reports?

I agree. Given multiple eye witnesses, what we know about Haiti and some media evidence, I find them to be credible.

Are you claiming that no ducks or geese (probably semi-tame) have been taken from public green space?

The most common Twitter Video being passed around is somewhat of a hoax. A woman did kill and eat cat in Canton, OH in mid-August. She is a mentally ill American named Alexis Ferrell. She was arrested and charged with animal cruelty.
They don't care.

I think Trump and JD should call attention to the fact that Harris and company have sent 15,000 Haitian immigrants to a town of 60,000 people in the middle of Ohio, since 2020. That this town is overwhelmed, to the point the Gov of the state is sending state troopers to help. That people in this town have reported to the police that their pets have been abducted and some have claimed it was by the immigrants. I don’t think most of America knows this is occuring and certainly doesn’t realize their town could be next.
