How did a decent chunk reagan/dole/bush voters raise their kids to be like this? Not saying you should brainwash your kids, but you should at least instill values that deter public destruction and violation of property rights.

I think your timeframes off... 80s offspring are now in the 30s... most of these rioters are in the mid/early twenties.... maybe their grandparents voted in the 84 election.

Regardless of how they were raised and who was missing along the process. What we have seen play out during the past few days can be spelled out by one background statement made during the protest outside the White House during the first night.

"All you white kids go to the front and raise your hands. They won't shoot you."

And those Rocket Scientists moved to the front and raised their hands while the agitators behind threw bricks and debris at the cops and Secret Service.

White Kids that want to be Black Kids ....

I was drunk last night and tried to redpill some lib family members on this stuff. Did not go well. Woke up to angry texts about how I have no empathy for what's going on.

We decided to be better than our parents. Our worlds are more inclusive and open-minded than theirs.

This. One of my daughter’s friends went to the protests in KC. Her dad is a conservative orthopedic surgeon. One of my daughter’s acquaintances flew to Minneapolis to be part of the protests.

It’s ridiculous. They know nothing and have experienced nothing. “The system is oppressive!!”

I don't think it would be difficult for you to find the answer your own question. If we just gave you our opinion, you wouldn't value the answer as much as if you found it for yourself.

Rioting and looting isn’t inclusive or open-minded. It’s pathetic and small.

Small group sessions at Brony conventions I believe.

Here, their play pretties are My Little Ponies. On the battlefield their play pretties are mace and bricks.

This reads like a parody account.

I have absolutely no empathy for what is going on.

Like I say many times, I have no problem with their opinion, I just don't care.

You don’t see it all around you?

So the parents don't bear any responsibility? Interesting this got a lot of up-votes. That explain a lot.

Generation X and Gen Z are going to have to squeeze out the Millenials. They are the kids of Boomers, and it is easy to see the resemblance
