Thanks for the thread. What a good general barometer to perhaps judge the percent of boomers on this political forum.
Without looking it up, can you even tell me what a Boomer is?

you start these threads every day boy, i'd have more respect for you if you'd go to the walmart on shackleford and beg with the other homeless people.
your status in life is the culmination of the horrible life decisions you've made.

quote:Great question. For my part, I pay a boat load of taxes every year. Probably close to 15X the average Millennial or Gen Xer.
What do you want them to do exactly?
I add to the economy by returning my social security to the economy by spending my social security. I add to the economy by spending on home improvements, keeping architects, engineers, contractors and supply house employees earning income, creating a rollover effect of approximately 10x what I put back into the economy so that insipid Millennial and GenX shits can stay employed while figuring out how to navigate life.

When I die. And since you will live longer, enjoy the country and the mess and living with the communists who complain just like you.

Younger people are increasingly asking when baby boomers will take responsibility for the mess they left behind
When younger people point this out, they often get scolded about “lattes and iPhones,” as if individual consumption choices are what created a multi-trillion-dollar federal liability.
We have all seen and heard what younger people are asking for from our beloved Federal Government. While this multi-trillion-dollar liability is not the Boomers' fault alone(it is all generations since...oh...the early 1900's), the younger generation will only make it worse with their wants.

What are you asking them to do?

As another poster has said, boomers inherited a white majority, conservative and prosperous nation, and will leave it broke, brown, and gay

Younger people buy $300,000 homes as starter homes and their first car is a BMW instead of the pos that boomers drove. It's a weird shift

I don't know who is responsible for the mess we are in. First legal and illegal immigration is causing lots of problems.
When I was in high school, pretty much every teen worked at a fast food restaurant, grocery store, life guard or amusement park. You made money while gaining invaluable work experience. Now, those jobs go to foreigners.
There was no shame in going to community college and living at home for a few years.
If you didn't get married in college, you had a roommate.
You didn't graduate with lots of debt.
We didn't eat out much. My family went out once a week for the enchilada special at El Fenix in Dallas.
We didn't by as many clothes as young people do now. Levis jeans lasted forever.
Small condos and townhomes were popular first homes.
We had more get togethers in our homes instead of going out. Bar b ques and game nights. As I got old, wine tasting dinner parties were popular.
People also hung out at free beaches, lakes, and rivers.
Movies were popular, but you went on cheap nights and to matinees.
Then add in a few concerts for something to splurge on.
It's not one thing, it's like a lot of small changes.

So you’ve lost out on life. And you found someone to blame.
Well good for you.
I love how losers out themselves.
And bud, you’re a loser. Congratulations.

there are no beaters anymore
Are you sure about that? I bought a beater, nearly brand new, back in March 2007-- a base model 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser! Now, nearly 20 years and 170,000 miles later, that beater is still beating. It's noteworthy there's a small metal plate on the engine block, with the inscription, "Hecho En Toluca, Toluca, EUM."
