Social Security is running a cash deficit today, and it will keep running deficits until its trust funds run out.
As it is EXACTLY what I told you, it would appear you don't understand the content of your uploads.
quote:Do you understand what "it would run at a ~20% deficit if changes were not made" means?
SS will run off its own recipient funded SSTF until 2034. After that, it would run at a ~20% deficit if changes were not made.
---
Myth #6: Social Security cannot run a deficit.
quote:100% FALSE!
The Treasury already has been funding a portion of Social Security benefits since 2010
Unless, of course, one also mislabels Treasury payments to holders of T-Bonds/T-Bills as "funding," instead of a repayment of US debt with interest.

I guess that you've been retarded your entire life. Can you chew bubble gum and walk at the same time?
Do you release how much money the "Greatest Generation" our parents gave away globally after saving the world?

Problem is, you can’t blame every single Boomer because that’s just ignorant. They just happened to be the generation that was coming of age during America’s peak and got lazy and let their guard down.
They do bear the responsibility of voting in idiots that completely sold us out but who’s to say Gen Z wouldn’t have done the same with the economic mobility the Boomers were afforded?
It’s a moot point, and advocating victimhood.

Look at the average age of politicians. They skew heavily towards the "boomers". You have to be ignorant to believe that America is represented by anyone but them. They have the trait of every boomer. They refuse to step aside and let the younger generations have any impact on important decisions
If you/younger generations, with about 70% of the vote, can't replace boomer politicians that are ruining your lives, that's on you for being pathetically weak and retarded.
quote:
They refuse to accept their responsibility as teachers and guiders of the younger generations because they feel, inaccurately that they did it all on their own. They didn't. They benefitted from the previous generation and woefully failed to recognize that.
This is ironic.
I don't think I've ever seen a boomer argue that boomers had it harder than their parents and grandparents. Most were not so far removed from the real struggles of past generations - world wars, the depression - that it would ever occur to them to blame the silent gen or greatest generation for inflation, high mortgage rates, etc. So don't f'n pretend that you got that behavior from boomers.
Here's reality -
Boomers benefited greatly from previous generations.
So have Millennials, Gen-Z - all of you guys whining about your lot in life. It's sad you don't appreciate how good (and relatively easy) your life is.

the generation that was coming of age during America’s peak
Boomers are an 18yr gen. So they came of age over a wide timespan (1964-1982). Where in that span was "America’s peak"?
quote:Boomers are comprised of two contradistinct groups. The first rebelled, along with the tale end of the silents, against mores, stupid war, and the draft. The second rebelled against the first. "Lazy" would not remotely represent a stereotypic characterization of the second contingent.
They ... got lazy
quote:You'll need to do some comparative research there.

the economic mobility the Boomers were afforded?
Who afforded the economic mobility to:
Jobs, Bezos, Wozniak, Jensen Huang, Ballmer, Allen, Gates, Arnault, Schwarzman, Ellison, Speilberg, Schmidt, Trump, etc, etc

Young people, including my daughter think they are entitled to free health care. They think they are entitled to a job that is forty hours a week. They are not. Earn it or join the military is what I tell them.

Good. Struggle is a necessity to enjoy your gains and appreciate what you have.

A lot of people are smarter than a lot of actual economists.
“The growth of the Internet will slow drastically, as the flaw in ‘Metcalfe’s law’—which states that the number of potential connections in a network is proportional to the square of the number of participants—becomes apparent: most people have nothing to say to each other! By 2005 or so, it will become clear that the Internet’s impact on the economy has been no greater than the fax machine’s.”

What does this have to do with not putting economists on a pedestal and thinking they know more/better than the rest of us?
I don't know what WSJ article you're referring to. NCT knows the social security program exceedingly well and can respond to your question.
My argument in this thread is about how good/easy your generation has it (as does all generations relative to the past), and how it's sad so many of you have bought the liberal narrative that you don't.
