When did you first hear about the proud boys?

I’m legit curious as I have been on this board listening to you conspiracy theorists for over 16 years and I have never ever heard of the term proud boys until Biden mentioned it in the debates.
Has anybody here ever heard of them before???? I find it pretty interesting that Biden asked Trump to denounce a group that I have never heard of at the debate and now they are blaming this whole thing on that exact group

From the very start. I listened to Gavin McGuinness show way back in 2015 on compound media, and the thing started as a joke to get the producer laid. The whole thing was that his producer would go to Broadway musicals with chicks and not get any pussy. So Gavin created a group called the Proud Boys - named after the Aladdin musical his producer went to - and created with the goal in mind to start a men's club that embraces western male masculinity. Somehow or another it turned into a real life Fight Club Project Mayhem where it became this world wide organization. But it originally started off as a goof.

He wouldn’t denounce them because the proud boys were protecting statues from what I remember. And they would kick Anyones arse who tried to mess with them.

Really? They predated Trump in 2016, but you didn't hear about them until presidential debates in 2020? Highly suspect.

That was the first time I had heard of them. Trump slipped and said something like proud boys stand down. He clearly had no real clue what proud boys were. I’m still not convinced they’re a racist group. Seems like they’re conservatives. And the left likes to mislabel everything under the sun as racist. If your folk don’t like it, y’all cry racism.

They are a legit group founded simply to celebrate the greatness of the Western male. Initiation consists of getting beat up until you name 5 kinds of breakfast cereals. Connor McGregor (MMA) was instrumental in starting ..,I believe.

Like another poster, from Gavin McInnis. Even when it became more than a prank thing, it was still not entirely serious. I think part of the initiation was you had to get punched until you could name something like 10 cereals.
