Moderates turned into the progressives
That's bullshite.

I'm pro second amendment, pro armed forces investment, pro free speech. I want to get rid of most welfare programs, invest in infrastructure, and I'm all for pipeline access and drilling. I want to stop all pocket lining funding of other countries, and use that to invest in border security.

Now, I'm for ending the war on drugs and just go ahead and legalize pot nationally. I'm pro choice. I want to invest in NASA and other tech, and also would like us to invest in alternate energy, which would create jobs. I don't care if guys have sex with other guys and want to get married.

So the above are just a few things, but according to you, that makes me a progressive. Like I said, that's bullshite.

You don't trust a politician when they say they're moderate, established that. What if they say they're for small government?

I can tell you are narrow-minded and believe your political persuasion is above reproach and that you are not open to new ideas. That is the very mark of low intelligence.

Exactly. I don't care if gay people get married, and I would legalize marijuana tomorrow, but I'm also willing to close down entire federal departments.

It's a lonely island.

Welcome to the alt-right poli board where moderate beilefs are considered liberal. Their alt right beliefs are literally a social disorder

If you wanna call reverting to a time when this country has less crime, less poverty, less terrorism, and less censorship as a social disorder then that's on you, but a lot of us just believe in what's right and view what some refer as exceptions as excuses!

I'm waiting for the definition of "moderate".

I see people who seem to think that holding positions that come from both sides = moderate but if that was the actual definition, 90% of Americans would probably be correctly called "moderates".

I'm anti-death penalty, fine with gay marriage and pro-drug legalization but I'd be a lying a-hole if I said that made me a "moderate".

Holding a few liberals positions or a few conservative positions just means you hold a few liberal or conservative positions. It doesn't make you a "moderate".

And ya know why? Cause there's no fricking such thing as a "moderate". The only REAL "moderates" are people who fall into the "I don't pay enough attention to have an opinion" group.

All others hold opinions and therefore, depending on the issue, are typically, somewhat conservative or liberal.

I feel like being a moderate went away when everything in our culture became politicized. That's what pisses me off more than anything. Everything is political now. Late night comedy, ESPN, etc. 24/7 News and Social Media have thrown gasoline on the political culture of this country.

What's frustrating is people have become so dug in on each side that nobody can have a conversation anymore because there's no respect for opposing opinions.

That's what I've been saying. This board is a hive of far right ideology just as bad as far left ideology. Being a moderate IS having beliefs from both sides of the spectrum.

Most people are this way. This board does not represent America.

This is hilarious. This is the exact type of behavior you have displayed in your short time on this board.

You need to gain some self-awareness.

You COMPLETELY missed the point.

Almost every soul on this board holds a few positions that violate the standard "conservative" position set.

Yet, as you so easily did here, NONE of them are considered "moderate" because, there's no fricking such thing.

There's just people who hold mostly one set or mostly the other because bottom line, for all the whining about it, THINKING people come to a general ideology and their views spring from that.

But, like all thinking people, exceedingly few are 100% across the board. The only people who call that being "moderate" are idiots.

"Moderate" almost always actually means, "person who spends 99% of their time worrying about which girl the Bachelor will pick".

Being an ideological blank slate isn't really being moderate so much as being disconnected.

I've never met a "moderate" who a ten minute conversation wouldn't flesh out that they weren't actually moderate.

Every last "moderate" I've ever known has been
1)Primarily conservative but too chicken shite to admit it

2)Primarily liberal but too chicken shite to admit it

3)Ideological blank slate because they never think about shite any more important than what color you wear with fuchsia.
