Self described moderates score much lower on current events tests than self described liberals or conservatives. Most people I know who are moderates don't keep up with issues enough to have an opinion they can articulate.

How so? Using your logic everyone is a moderate.
What exactly is my logic? All I did was take your flawed logic to the woodshed.
You can't say someone is an unprincipled opportunist just because they hold no loyalty to one ideology. That's retarded.

in California, if you aren't a fringe Marx-quoting leftist you're a republican
in Louisiana, if you aren't a bible beating hater of the government, you're a democrat.
its pretty sad how batshit both parties have become

There actually are conservative principles that are fairly consistent.
Not true at all. Raw conservatism clashes with Bible thumping conservatism all the time. The drug war and gay marriage being prime examples.

That's been my point this whole thread.
People keep trying to say, "moderates are people not wedded to just one team" to which the obvious response is, "then nearly everyone is a 'moderate'".
The fact that people do NOT call everyone a "moderate" is an indication that the state definition of one is false.

When they usually prove themselves to be leftists.

Ain't that what being an adult is all about? Give and take?
How judgmental and exclusionary of you. Being a D or R does not make one less mature than you or less capable of give and take. Lots of give and take in DC BTW
