I'll be banned because my opinion differs from yours and admins?

I meant you won't last here because you don't have the chops to last.

I meant that you are like so many others that will post here for a couple of days, have your arse whipped and then quietly go away.

That's what I meant.

Yes.

It's another bull shite word that once you converse with people, you discover it has no actual meaning.

They'll tell you, "but I hold these 5 conservative positions and these 5 liberal ones".

OK. Then, when those issues are talked about, you'll be a liberal 5 times and a conservative 5 times.

I mean, THAT is how issues are talked about in real life.

I don't think I've ever seen a soul argue about abortion where they took a pro or anti position and someone said, "wait, let me see what those people think on 9 OTHER issues before I decide if they're conservative or liberal".

Or maybe they just pick and choose what ideas they agree/disagree from both shite show "Teams". What is wrong with that? That kind of thinking is healthy for this country.

Conservative has meant Conservative since at least Goldwater.

It's the left that has to continually rebrand.

They have to rebrand because their shite doesn't work.

That's simply not true.

You're talking to a person who has voted for Bill Clinton, Bush, Obama, and wrote in Rand Paul.

I'm not ashamed to admit as much, because I'm not beholden to the party mentality. I vote based on who, at the time, better fits my views and beliefs.

"Moderate", in fact, more closely represents mainstream Democrats: the "radical middle", if you will.

AGAIN, you guys fall for the rhetoric you claim to dislike.

Being primarily one or the other doesn't mean you're on a "team". I have a core philosophy. If I woke up tomorrow and some magician had waved a magic wand and all the republicans were parroting Ginsburg and all the Democrats were parroting Scalia, I would suddenly be a Democrat.

It is YOUR assumption that the philosophy is driven by being on a team. That is false.

Beyond that, I believe every post I've made in this thread has pointed out that even people considered to be almost entirely liberal or conservative have a few positions that violate this trend.

Rex was liberal as the day is long.........but, if you restricted his arse to only one or two issues, he would be indistinguishable from his conservative counterparts.

The same goes in reverse.

But, THAT isn't being a "Moderate".

You people need to learn to read.

If you voted for both Obama and Paul, you haven't the foggiest idea what you actually believe.

Sorry. That's just reality. That has nothing to do with party. It means that you voted for people with almost completely opposite views.

Agreed, and it's becoming more and more rare unfortunately. We've been conditioned to pigeonhole people into one or the other.

That's an exception the the rule - voting for Paul gave solus in the fact that I at least knew what I was getting for my vote. I knew exactly what I believed...both parties gave me crap candidates.

My core beliefs remain the same (already listed). The candidates, do not...and I vote accordingly.

This fact is completely dispelled by the most recent national elections.

This fricking jackass is a prime example of why our political discourse has devolved to where it has.

frick ShortyRob and people who think like him.

In lieu of reasoned discussion of topics and people evaluating issues and candidates on their own merits, you have litmus test issues and party line votes followed by "resistence" when they lose.

Grow up. How old are you? I hope you are in your early twenties or younger. If so, there may be hope for you once you get some world experience under your belt.

Loser.

Is this referring to me?

What are my "litmus test issues"? Cause, that's just really not the case.

Nope.

And to think. I was about to respond to your prior post to the other guy in a positive way.

I actually agree with some of his opinions. I do believe that when push comes to shove, most "moderates" will lean democrat. I personally don't follow that mantra, however, and wanted to make that clear.

Where we differ is at the voting booth. I'm simply not going to tow any party line...and will vote for, in my opinion, the best candidate that caters to my, and my children's future.
