Probably some small town off of 167. Don't think much of it but you use to see them every now and then. Same with the nazi shite.

I grew up and have lived in rural dirt road GA my entire life - except college. I have never known a Klan member. Have heard a few rumored here and there - more so in my childhood - and quite honestly they were extreme social outcasts that nobody would take seriously.

Yep, but this BS white supremacy thing is grating on me. People rode horses a hundred years ago and used mules to work the farms. I haven’t seen a horse and cart going to town in a minute.

From what I remember kkk members were all democrats. In fact , all those Dixiecrats lived and died as democrats also , including that Robert Byrd guy that has his name on half the buildings in Washington d c and had Joe Biden basically giving him a blowjob at every opportunity. I think only two switched parties . A Mississippi congressman Albert something and Strom Thurmond .

My old man remembers seeing the klan back in the early 60’s in St. Tammany. A guy who lived down the road from them was a member and would have small meetings at his house. An uncle of mine who grew up on a farm in northern St. Tammany in the 40’s and 50’s remember seeing klan meetings in the field across the highway from their farm. Flaming crosses and all. He would watch from his bedroom window and wonder what the hell was going on.
My old man said he never witnessed anything klan related after his teen years, even when they were desegregating the high school. I’ve never witnessed or heard of anything growing up. Only what you saw in the movies.
On my first visit to Australia in 1998 my wife (no pics) and I were on a city bus in Sydney. They had a couple “bah, dude!” surfer types on the bus, and heard my accent. They asked where I was from in the states, and told them Louisiana. I get a blank stare (if it’s not California or New York it’s over their heads) so I say “it’s in the southern US.” I start to see the wheels start cranking in one of their brains, and he slowly leans over and says “hey, can I ask you a question? Is there still like the KKK and stuff down there?” I just laughed and told him if there was, no one takes them seriously anymore. I kind of wish I would have said “sure do! I was at a cross burning just last week!” just to see what kind of reaction I’d get.
