Throughout the election, Hillary essentially side stepped the issue with empty platitudes to avoid grappling with Trump over details. Has there been any clear articulation of what the Democrats believe we should be doing with immigration?

I can answer for them.

It's humane to give amnesty.
What about the children?
Dreams?
America is a melting pot.
Frick our laws.
Australia isn't the US.
American's second.
Votes...we like votes

Cry, cry, cry some more then repeat platitudes.

Open borders as long as you’re not white or a Christian from the Middle East
Entitlements for all!

Open Border...un-regulated immigration with Government subsidies and full Citizen Rights...which results in their "fundamental change".

Considering that illegal aliens aren't eligible to vote, what y'all are describing is either a poor strategy or something that Republicans like to make up, a propaganda fantasy.

Immigrants before American citizens.

Hispanics before blacks and whites.

How did I know that this would devolve into a Republican racist thing?

The democrat platform is simply hate. If they didn't have hate to push they wouldn't have anything. They have to lie to get anyone to accept them. It's pitiful really. It would really be an act of mercy to put them all out of the world's misery.

The immigration "debate" has been atrocious and both sides are to blame. But at least the GOP has come out with SOME actual positions, the Dems not so much.

How many immigrants per year? How to select those immigrants?

These questions should be answered first, but they never get discussed.

Strangely, Dems were until pretty recently opposed to mass immigration due to concerns over depressed wages. What happened there? (Well, we know what happened ...).

You don't know your own party's position, do you?

Right. The Dems essentially seem to be countering the Republican policies with nothing other than, "well that's wrong".
