I know leaders of the movement post on this board.

Obviously this is a big setback.

What’s the next step?

Need to find a way for the school district to win if it gets a “NO” vote

As with all things St George, there’s a gulf between what anyone with a brain would do, and what they’ll do

Anyone with a brain would have campaigned for this school district.

The people actually involved are idiots though, so they lost and now are just stuck running a shitty city inside of a shitty parish where they aren’t even a plurality.

Agreed. Let some time pass. Having the City of St George was a massive win. Focus on making it the best city. The school vote will happen again.

Pretty sure they have to wait two years before going to vote again

How did Zachary and Central succeed and St George fail?

I don’t remember massive PR for Zachary and Central but my memory could be failing me

Change the language of the proposed amendment to not creating a school district. People tend to vote no when they don't understand the lawyer speak.

The only people that should be allowed to decide this are the ones who live in St George

The fact I, 80 miles away from St George, get a say in this, is absurd.

What’s next for them should be working to fix that problem,

Creating a new district impacts funding for every district in the state
That’s why you have to get a statewide vote

Those were two decades ago, and involved what at the time of those votes were detached suburbs.

The VERY stupid people running EBR realize now that StG leaving in the same manner would mean that the City of BR would have to pay for itself.

Such a dumb statement.

Louisiana spends a frickton already per student. MONEY has nothing to do with our public education disaster. That’s entirely attributable to fricking shitty ghetto culture

Let me state it more plainly: No one wants to send their kids to public school because blacks can’t behave.

The voters all vote NO without actually reading anything. They think they are sticking it to the man

That little sliver on the map that goes north to Central is their fallback plan.

Next step is to be annexed into Central!

I'm talking out of my arse but there is a reason they added the bank of the Amite River all the way up to Central. I'm still waiting to see what the purpose of this move.

How were Baker, Central, and Zachary able to pull it off?

St. George can’t extend their boundary to central
Hell St. George should join ascension or Livingston instead

This is my impression as well.

Sure in EBR the central and Zachary not really affecting EBR makes sense but this got trounced statewide.

I have trouble believing that someone in Alexandria knew the intricacies of central schools vs St. George and felt Pro central but anti St. George.
