Ideas of this sort from the Texas Republican Convention - some are in order for this thread
Their new platform would call for:
1.Requiring Texas students “to learn about the humanity of the preborn child,” including teaching that life begins at fertilization and requiring students to listen to live ultrasounds of gestating fetuses.
2. Amending the Texas Constitution to remove the Legislature’s power “to regulate the wearing of arms, with a view to prevent crime.”
3. Treating homosexuality as “an abnormal lifestyle choice,” language that was not included in the 2018 or 2020 party platforms.
4. Deeming gender identity disorder “a genuine and extremely rare mental health condition,” requiring official documents to adhere to “biological gender,” and allowing civil penalties and monetary compensation to “de-transitioners” who have received gender-affirming surgery, which the platform calls a form of medical malpractice.
5. Changing the U.S. Constitution to cement the number of Supreme Court justices at nine and repeal the 16th Amendment of 1913, which created the federal income tax.
6. Ensuring “freedom to travel” by opposing Biden’s Clean Energy Plan and “California-style, anti-driver policies,” including efforts to turn traffic lanes over for use by pedestrians, cyclists and mass transit.
7. Declaring “all businesses and jobs as essential and a fundamental right,” a response to COVID-19 mandates by Texas cities that required customers to wear masks and limited business hours.
8. Abolishing the Federal Reserve, the nation’s central bank, and guaranteeing the right to use alternatives to cash, including cryptocurrencies.

I would want it made so that all legislative bills must be single item only. No more 1000 page novels full of pork that no one can possibly read

The Constitution must explicitly forbid delegating of legislative and judicial powers not set forth in it's text. We have to shrink the administrative agency power, as it allows unelected buerocrats to create and adjudicate laws that reduce liberty more than any other facet of American life. Woodrow Wilson is to blame for this gross expansion of federal power.
A president has the power to abolish an agency - we just need one with the balls to do it.

1. Term limits for all members of Congress. No member of Congress shall serve for more than twelve years total (whether in either chamber or both).
2. Repeal the 14th Amendment and replace it with one which outlines "a natural born citizen" as one born of at least one parent who was an American citizen at the time of their child's birth.
3. The federal budget shall be balanced every year there is not an active, legally declared war on another country. Any debt incurred due to war shall be discharged within twenty years of the end of the war.
4. Civil assets may not be forfeited without a guilty verdict from a legal trial.
5. The federal government shall not force citizens to participate in, nor fund any social welfare program. This includes, but is not limited to Social Security and Medicare.
6. The federal government shall not own, hold nor in any way possess more than 5% of total property in any state.
7. Questions of Constitutionality shall be heard by the Supreme Court within 60 days of filing.
8. Members of Congress shall be provided with government-paid dormitory housing not to exceed a total of 1,800 square feet. When Congress is not in session they shall not be in residence in Congressional housing but must be in their home state or district.
9. Senators shall be elected by state legislatures. Any Senate seat vacant for more than 90 days shall be appointed by the Governor.
10. The federal government shall not control the education system in any way. The federal government shall act only as a passthrough for school funding.
11. No elected members of the federal government may trade stocks, nor have their stocks traded, as long as they hold office. All stocks must be placed into a blind trust when they take office and be left there until they no longer hold office.
12. There shall be no federal income tax, only a federal sales tax of 22% and it shall never be raised above that point.
13. A charge of "Lying While In Office" shall be defined as an elected official writing or stating a lie while in committee, on the floor of either chamber, speaking from the Oval Office or in an official press conference. A "Lie" shall be defined as a "known falsehood". If a charge of "Lying While In Office" is levelled, it must appear before the Supreme Court within 10 business days. Any official found to have made a false claim or one found guilty shall be immediately stripped of their office and forever be ineligible of holding any federal job nor working for any company with a federal contract.
14. No elected member of the federal government shall be beholden to their political party nor shall any political party be allowed to pressure, coerce nor force in any way any elected member of the federal government into supporting any other person.
15. The salaries for members of Congress shall be determined by the average US wage of all full-time workers.
16. No elected federal official (former or current) shall ever hold a position lobbying current federal elected officials.
17. The Supreme Court shall never have more than nine members.
18. No piece of legislation shall be more than 50 pages in 12-point, single-spaced, New Times Roman font.
I think that's a solid start.

The founders had to right the first time - only landowners should be allowed to vote. You want to vote - own some land have skin in the game.
Democracy needs to die - we are a republic - I don’t want to live somewhere the majority of people get a say. The majority of people are idiots and morons.
Do you really want these people voting?

term Limits, 12 years in House MAX, 24 year total between House and Senate. The House needs to have regular turnover. The Senate does need people who understand law ... like Mike Lee (whether you like him or not he knows how bills should be written or not ... with detail that does not give more authority to federal agencies).
SC Justice 25 years, or age 80, which ever comes first.
Let the People vote for the Vice President ... how many bad choices do we have too watch? Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, Dick Cheney, Al Gore, Dan Quayle.
Did you post on Toomers before coming here? If so, what was your sig?

So hypothetically you’re aged and decide to sell or deed over your house and go live in a rental, you lose your right to vote? Even if you’ve paid property taxes for 4 or 5 decades?

Repeal 17th and require state legislatures to elect Senators (and they cannot delegate it to popular vote).
Repeal 16th and establish a national sales tax of 20%.
No FICA
No Medicare tax
No income tax
Eliminate the following departments:
Energy
Education
Homeland Security
Labor
HUD
Repeal Title VII and Title IX
All tax legislation will require a 2/3 vote of both houses and shall have a 5 year sunset and cannot be renewed without a 2/3 vote of both houses. If the country is in a DECLARED WAR taxes can be passed by simple majority, subject to same sunset period.
Term limits
Establish mechanism for states to withdraw from the union.

You could just start a property owner club, get a 100 people to an undivided lot.
Each person would own 1/100th. Very cheap but it would legally make them all landowners

Severely limit the taxing power of the federal government. Too much money flows through that corrupt place.
Reign in Chevron deference. Too many unelected administrative people making rules.
Reign in executive orders for the same reason.
Prohibit Congress from exempting itself from any laws that apply to the rest of us (e.g., Obamacare).

first. take a true census/poll that shows maybe 3 States want communism and Biden or any establishment in DC.
then break away and let them go broke. they cannot ask to use our military or police.

You could grandfather people in - if they have owned land for 35 years or something then they would keep their vote.
The point is we have to increase the level of voters in this country. Most people are stupid as hell

then add that federal law could never trump state law especially as for as elections go

This would result in DC insiders writing every bill. That would be even worse than now.
"1) term limits.
2 terms house - 4 years
1 term senate - 6 years "

I would clarify that a natural born citizen requires at least one parent that was already a legal citizen of the USA when born.
