It appears that is definitely going to happen.
Paxton has pretty much no polls, enthusiasm, or momentum a month and a half out
Will they learn any lessons?
I doubt it.
All I am hearing from republicans is "no, but for real Paxton's winning because trust me bro"
Despite everything else screaming to the contrary.

Get rid of the old guys and get some new blood in the party. If Talarico gets in, republicans won't be any more successful getting him out than Georgia is of getting rid of Ossoff or Warnock. He'll be in there for a generation.

I’m not sure what it says. Republicans handily won the state in 2024 so it would probably just signal that in mid term election with a lot of frustration over costs don’t run a guy like Paxton.
