What Trump is doing is central economic planning

Trying to remake the American economy in his image, by raising taxes significantly on imports based on arbitrary calculations. Domestic companies will become accustomed to government protection and because they’ll be shut out from world markets, won’t face the competition required to make technological changes. The lack of competition will tend to higher prices, and when that bubble bursts, people will lose their jobs. I want so badly to be wrong, but the problem in this country is that we’re a debt and consumer driven society, instead of one driven by savings and investment. Until we fix monetary inflation, we are going to have distortions in trade balances.

So genius, what should change to correct the economy? Seems you pointed it out in your observation.

I’ll bet that sounded better in your head.

What Trump is doing is stopping the free party at the house of the USA... It's time for the rest of the world to bring their own beer, dope and snacks...

Uniparty Boomer logic:
Quantitative easing & massive public debt = muh stonks strong, home value bigly, capitalism
Anything that hurts their 401k = central planning, anti-free market, socialism

Central planning is a soviet union term.
Trump does want manufacturing, fabrication, and production to return to the United States of America. This is a national security issue as much as a economic issue. It will create jobs in this country for those that want to work, if Americans do not want to work then we are screwed. The lazy can vote for more benefits.

We have to become productive again. We have to rebuild all these towns destroyed by globalization.
And shitting on muh 401k BoomerCons who looked the other way for 30 years while the country inflated their net worth on the backs of future generations to do so is fine by me.

A combo of shaming these people and making benefits extremely difficult is the only path forward.
