Leander Perez could be listed up there

Carpetbaggers, followed by the Long Family.
Its a populist grift machine for the most part. Brother in laws get all the benefits.

Also, only if we had a board to discuss such things

If you say one with the last name Long or Edwards you have a 100% chance of being right

The Long Family. But I don't really understand why we haven't purged that sentiment after all these decades.

He, along with Huey and Earl Long, would be on your Mount Rushmore. Edwin Edwards as your 4th.

Huey long and edwin edwards on state level
Nola has had several but Marc Morial was special.
Jefferson on the federal level.
Lots of others around the state and national level.

Long and Edwards, but if you look at most Northern States, especially New York, New Jersey, Illinois and Massachusetts, we really can't touch them. Every where has the "good ole boy network", nepotism, etc. Those two took it to a higher level, but or Governor's are very powerful and everything runs through the State. Others are far more corrupt on a local scale, except maybe New Orleans, it would be easier to find the ones who aren't just like any large Urban area in the US.

Loooooong ago. Don't forget, France sent their criminals and prostitutes here in the beginning. DNA and all....

Huey Long set the tone, and it has never changed.

Hurt Long is the the long lasting stab in the heart for our states energy sector. We’d be like Dubai had he not brokered the deal he brokered. I speak about it a lot in my posts.
In summary, he enriched his team, family and colleagues and sold out his state, frick that dude!
Mountain West States make more on oilfield revenues than Louisiana oil on our coastline. Let that sink in!
We are subsidizing a large portion of the country and NO FAVORS HAVE EVER BEEN REPAID!
DC is a big playground for bankers and lawyers and crooked politics, Huey Long was one of them!

Apparently you are unfamiliar with his predecessor....Sidney Barthelemy. Disfunction and corruption.
