What is your local media pushing regarding Covid?

Try to watch a little of the local news most mornings but it is unbearable with the COVId narrative. From central MS:
Mississippi hospitals seeing impacts of rising COVID-19 cases and hospital admissions
You wanted it, here it is’: State rep. says Mississippi’s COVID surge consequence of not getting vaxxed
Lumumba: As COVID-19 infections go up, Jackson’s mask mandate will stay in place
UMMC experts debunk misinformation about COVID-19 vaccine and pregnancy
4th wave is here,’ warns State Health Officer as COVID cases, hospitalizations skyrocket
MSDH asking community health clinics, vaccine providers to Adopt-a-School

quote:
Lawrence County Hospital nurses say they were hopeful when they saw a successful vaccine site in their county. “Now, we are seeing more people with COVID positive and probably 95-to-98% that are not vaccinated,” said Lawrence County Hospital RN and Nurse Educator Tonjia Lang.
You wanted it, here it is’: State rep. says Mississippi’s COVID surge consequence of not getting vaxxed
quote:
In a tweet Monday, Representative Jeramey Anderson of Mississippi’s 110th district said that the sudden increase was due to the “consequences of not getting vaccinated and poor mask wearing.” “Well Mississippi- you wanted it here it is,” Anderson wrote while attaching a tweet by the Mississippi Department of Health reporting 2,326 cases of COVID-19 over a 3-day period.

The mayor also says that additional restrictions could be on the horizon if the metro’s hospitals again become overwhelmed by COVID patients. “That is a defining statistic that sways the pendulum of when we implement more restrictions or not,” he said.
UMMC experts debunk misinformation about COVID-19 vaccine and pregnancy
quote:
JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Getting the COVID-19 vaccine will not affect someone’s fertility or make them sterile. The vaccine has also not shown to be dangerous or harmful to a pregnant woman or her unborn baby, or to a mother and her breast-fed baby. However, getting the vaccine will outweigh any possible or potential adverse events because it will help both pregnant and non-pregnant women to avoid sever COVID-19 disease, including the high contagious Delta variant.
4th wave is here,’ warns State Health Officer as COVID cases, hospitalizations skyrocket
quote:
thomas dobbs @TCBPubHealth Very sad indeed. Didn't have to be this way. 4th wave is here
MSDH asking community health clinics, vaccine providers to Adopt-a-School
quote:
JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - As we inch closer to the start of school, the state’s top doctors ask community health clinics and vaccine providers to Adopt-a-School. This effort uses federal funds funneled through Mississippi State Department of Health to increase the community’s access to vaccines. The MSDH COVID-19 community vaccination program will reimburse costs that providers pay to create a pop-up vaccine clinic at a school in their area. The goal is to prevent classroom outbreaks and make it easier for children 12 and up to get vaccinated.

I dont watch news and am happier for it. Why fill you head with propaganda

Refuse to watch the broadcast news.

Because “local” isn’t really local. It’s owned by national/global parties

I guess we are supposed to freak out over ANY increase now, the panic is absolute bullshite.
MS Has Good Online Metrics
In the link above, you can see in the charts that there is certainly an increase, but it is SO SMALL compared to any other time in the pandemic except for late Spring.
There is under 400 hospitalizations in the entire state, and the state has over 1400 beds available.

I would have to start paying attention to answer your question.

Yep, and I try my best to use Podcasts via my phone while in the car. WSB 750am in Atlanta, used to be my go to, but they have become unbearable. Eric "the never Trumper clown" Erickson, the nonsense national news briefs throughout the day, the other leftist and the endless commercials - many paid by the left.
Podcast and music via Spotify paid subscription (no ads) is the way to go.

Don't watch so I don't know. I form my own opinions.

Local media not doing much in the islands. The numbers are striking (cases and some hospitalizations, but no deaths recently).
Tourism setting record highs.
Tourism setting record highs.

The leading infectious disease voice in the BR area said a few days ago, while crying at the governor's press conference "If you don't choose the vaccine you're choosing death." Delta is a beast, everyone is dying, etc.
So, we have that.
So, we have that.

Exactly.
If you watch the news you are convinced the world is a horrible place right now. Mass death and devastation caused by "pandemic" that will apparently never end...racial division at levels not seen since the 1840's, etc, etc.
But then you go out into the world and you realize there aren't dead bodies lying in the streets or collapsing everywhere. Black and white people are largely friendly and respectful of each other. REALITY is different than the narrative the media is desperately trying to sell.... In ALL ways. Including the fact the media is largely avoiding acknowledging we are in the midst of quickly rising inflation. That businesses can't find employees willing to work, and that violent crime is on the rise.

The local news is coming to my neighborhood where we are burning bodies in the streets.

End of the world. Hospitals are full. It’s Drumph’s supporters fault

I have a 2nd cousin who is a nurse in north MS. She texted my sister this morning saying the MS Dept of Health sent out letters to hospitals yesterday saying people aged 65+ are asked not to mass gather even if vax'd. Said that number are skyrocketing again!!!
I looked at the NYT site and MS is showing a 7-day average of 611.....wow, what a surge / s.
They are really going to try to lock us down again.

quote:Agree. I don't want to be one of those assholes who says they don't have cable but I don't, and I don't read/watch any of the major outlets. I've just turned it all off. I live in SLC and locally its still a bit hyperbolic for my tastes but not terrible. I was down in Auburn for the past week and no one cares. I loaded up for groceries and I counted 7 of 67 people in the store who wore masks. It was pretty refreshing.

Checked this yesterday - Fox4 and NBC5 in Dallas ramping up concern over Delta.
quote:This seems to be the order of the day.
"Every day we're seeing numbers increase. This is becoming a big concern."

They certainly are, and with the Dems in control of Washington we are about to truly separate the wheat from the chaff in terms of true conservative state leadership.

My wife is a nurse practitioner and her comment to me was that all of her covid hospitalizations are unvaccinated.
So I believe the hospitals are telling people that the patients are unvaccinated and that's where the local news is getting their information. Here at the very least.
Objectively speaking, I don't know why they would lie about it, but I also don't buy that 100% are unvaccinated. My guess is that there may be some funding linked to treating unvaccinated patients at this point.
FWIW, I don't have the vaccine and don't plan on taking it.
