Trump's handling of the Epstein situation has been a complete disaster for him.
This was/is a debacle. Calling your voting base "stupid", "foolish", and "weaklings" and labeling the Epstein files a "hoax" then subsequently voting to release the files after being forced to is a sure way to lose the people that once supported you.
Now Trump has lost the very people and enthusiasm to man the ramparts to help get legislation passed. People have checked out and John Thune, Chuck Schumer and the Mitch McConnel crew say good move. Thanks Trump, now we don't have to deal with those deplorables.

hes never going to make the left or the "true conservatives" approve of him, so he probably should just keep running the country like he wants, since he was the one elected president. its kind of up to congress to stop sucking and do something if they want to win midterms

Remember all the fake Kamala Harris polls where she was ahead of Trump.

As of February 2026, the U.S. Supreme Court is in the midst of a pivotal term regarding race-based districting, with decisions expected to significantly impact the 2026 midterm elections. The Court is reviewing cases from Louisiana, Texas, and New York that challenge the use of race in drawing congressional maps, with a conservative majority appearing skeptical of race-conscious map-making

This. One million Israelis, one million Palestinians, one million Iranians, I would not trade one American life nor one American taxpayer dollar to save. NOT OUR PROBLEM.

Are these the same pollsters that expect us to believe that America is dying to elect Gavin Newsome president?

The is from The Economist (Link), just a day or so ago:
399 days into Donald Trump's term
The president's net approval rating is -17,
down 0.0 points since last week.
39% approve, 56% disapprove, 6% not sure
Not good.
He's below where he was compared to 2017. He's below where Biden was in 2021. Both of those dipped from inauguration but Trump 2.0 has dipped worse.
Looking at him on specific issues, he's fallen on all of them. Took a big drop on Inflation / prices from about +3 to -25, roughly. This is the stuff the admin better be looking at - people care about prices. His obsession with tariffs is misguided.
People are not seeing better prices and less pressure on their wallets when they go to the store. "It's the economy stupid" is still relevant.
Immigration has been horrible for him. Very strong approval at inauguration, and now a tumble. It's an 80/20 issue - it's his methodology. People expected an orderly, methodical approach. Not perfect but definitely not chaos. He thinks everything is a negotiation and has no capacity for strategy. Strategic thinking must be done for fundamental issues. Negotiations are positional struggles with eventual compromise. Trump has never understood this. Immigration is a fundamental issue for both sides. It demands strategy coupled to smart tactics. It's not a negotiation with compromise which is neither winning nor losing. He must win this battle, and that demands strategy and tactics. Negotiations only use tactics. Tactics without strategy are the noise before defeat.
Trump is underwater with every sex, age, race, and education level. I suspect proper confidence intervals might overlap with 0, but the point estimates all have him underwater.
They present a tracking related to the relative importance of key issues (natsec, economy, immigration, healthcare, civil rights). Since covid, the economy is massively dominant. Don't underestimate the futility of Trump's fixation on tariffs and the importance of people not seeing desired relief on prices and inflation. Plus there is H1B and AI job losses that are scaring the hell out of millions of people.
If this Iran stuff goes sideways, he's cooked. By that I mean impeached and removed. All because of Israel. The cartel stuff could go sideways as well.
To answer the OP question on course correction - the answer is mostly Israel. Israel has caused Trump (and Republicans) to lose all of the youth, pretty much. Every bit of the youth that got pulled away from the left have now run from the right. Same for Independents.
Aside from breaking from Israel, he needs to tell the billionaires to get lost as well.
Can the tariffs.
Lower the cost of energy and he has levers to pull for that.
Cancel H1B.
Completely new approach for immigration. Lock down the border entirely and start at Key West and move north and west through the red states. Make them into 0% illegal areas, push the illegals to blue areas while targeting fraud in places like MN. Erode the Somali community in tiny bits and pieces. Make blue areas full of illegals and they'll beg for enforcement action by midterms.
He needs to stop the feud with Massie. An easy step would be to lead the charge to repeal the kill switch legislation. Easy win for him and Republicans and would help with the pro-Massie crowd because they are nationwide at this point.
He should reverse course on Epstein, every bit of it, but he won't because of Israel.
He needs a staff overhaul. Start with his CoS.

I guess that includes you.... lol
You goof balls are consistently proved wrong, yet y'all keep on doubling down...

I like Richard Baris.
That doesn't mean the poll is correct or was done properly. But I wouldn't blame Baris for the polling. He is the messenger and he has been vocal for any polling data (either left or right) to earn the benefit of the doubt about his intentions. He is just a messenger.
And the polling data may be correct.
Trump is fighting social media and the main stream media like a banshee. And that isn't always a winning battle when facing those odds.
Bondi and Noems have been losers in terms of messaging. I don't like or trust Lutkis.
Bad messaging loses the public trust on important issues.
What can Trump do better?
More JD Vance
More Marco Rubio
More Tom Holman
The American public doesn't need half truths or gaslighting.
Let the democrats continue to do that. But counter it with serious, thought out responses.
Maga is still on the correct side of issues.
Maintain the serious responses and cut out the hyperbole bullshite.
