The AR is the i-phone of weapons.

reminds of the tire track evidence presented in "My Cousin Vinnie".
The killer's car had the most popular size of the most popular tire in America. What are the odds...

Yes
That is one of the qualities behind the design of the AR. And the purpose for the 2nd amendment was to enable the citizenry to resist an oppressive (tyrannical) government.
The 2nd amendment was not included just to provide a means for the citizenry to protect itself or hunt. It was to ensure that they had weapons to keep a tyrannical government from taking away our rights (any of them not just the right to own a firearm).

It's a grandstanding gambit on the backs of teary-eyed victims.
School shootings aren't even close to traffic fatalities, drug overdoses, inner-city murders.
Yet, no one is really talking about the 31 murders in Nola year to date. Or the 60 homicides in Chicago year to date.
2nd Amendment is to protect the citizens from enemies both foreign and DOMESTIC.
You commie, anti-gun bastards are trying to enable them.
There are already laws on the books that say don't commit these crimes.
But when people don't obey them, we need to make more laws.

Just stop.
First off, I don't think you know what single-action means.
Second, it doesn't take an "assault weapon" to do what you describe.
I had a Ruger 10/22 as a kid that had 10 round rotary clips. That gun would fire as fast as you could pull the trigger without jamming. Believe me, I tested it into a bayou-- 10 rounds in just over a second. I know, I was a jackass.
Of course, it's not designed for that purpose. It's a .22 rimfire, but it is very accurate and reliable. That is how guns are supposed to work.

Can easily be done with a pistol.
You mean a Uzi?

How do you know this? Opioids are literally everywhere. Further if there are drugs, doesnt that play against your argument that it inherently causes a danger to society?

Your argument is weak and I suggest you retire
And yours relies on anecdotal evidence and denial that it would ever be close to you.

No, a regular semi auto pistol.

Thats 3 shots every 4 seconds, not exactly a high rate of fire...

The ease of reloading and the size of the magazine, mostly.

Right. So either we think the govt can and should control something (like drugs) or that they should take a step back and let freedom take its toll (like guns).

An uzi shoots about 600 rounds a minute

Hate the AR but are OK with a wood stock Ruger mini 14 or a semi auto shotgun.
We have to stop trying to place blame and get to the root causes of these problems and start holding people personally responsible.
The alarms about this kid were going off loud and clear and nothing was done. Where are his parents?

I am suggesting they cant be controlled. Otherwise gun control would work, like the war on drugs is similarly not working.

So heres a question along those lines, why do some conservatives think guns cant be controlled, but drugs can?
