In all seriousness, the weakness and complacency of so many spirits, souls, and minds that it must take to be blind to the deterioration of our basic rights and liberties happening before our very eyes -right now- is not something I thought I’d ever see in my lifetime of lo these 3 score years...

The sad thing is that I don’t believe most of the folks out there “fighting fascism” have any clue what constitutes fascism. It’s just a bad word. The irony evident in the actions undertaken in the name of anti-fascism is obscenely tragic.

DJ Jazzy Trevor and the rest of the Trustifarians have no idea what actual human suffering is. They will learn when they are finally successful in creating the America they think they want.

they have a vague idea of it being authoritarian

but yes it's mostly branding to re-live actual fascist v. communist fighting of the 30s and 40s in Europe

however, the same examination could be done with "communist" on the other side. gotta be careful

what all of this ultimately boils down to at the extreme is the typical human patter of dehumanization

however, this is applicable and non-lethal

sadly that's kind of where it's going

about the only thing they can use from the traditional form of the term "fascism" is the nationalism that Trump promotes, but that's not exclusive to the GOP

almost all of the oligarchic-types the Left likes to imprint onto reality to create a fake fascism support the Left (the media, big tech, etc.)

The Affordable Care Act fits in nicely with Fascism.

And even there, the type of hyper-nationalism seen in historical fascist regimes In no way resembles American nationalism. Fascists nationalism was true “nationalism” in the sense that it revolves around a shared ethnicity and culture and worked to the exclusion of other ethnicities. America, since it’s inception, has been a multinational state and has only grown more diverse since its inception. American nationalism is a promotion of American ideals and assimilation to those ideals.

oh 100%

just like with all things related to this comparison, we get the "holy shite our lives are awesome / 3rd World Problems of the Day" version of it

you're going to lose this argument with the woke mob but you're 100% correct. as a descendant of multiple ethnic groups who were excluded from proper/white society, i'm a socio-genetic testament to this argument, no matter how much the ignorant woke mob tries to argue that "white people" are a single group

Fascism is anti-revolutionism. Simple as that.

Basically quelling communist uprisings.

The last year or so has taught me a lot about how to frame history.

Also, the Biden family dealings under the microscope finally are classic fascism.

Not framing it in anyone’s favor. It is what it is.

ETA: It doesn’t necessarily have to be a communist uprising. But it’s always an egalitarian uprising, which in the past century looks like a communist uprising. Once communists have power they are just as fascist as any nationalist populist dictator.

I have close friends that still insist to this day that Trump is an Authoritarian. Hate the fact that they have no clue what they are saying.

If Trump was what they claim he was, 95% of the media would have been lined up and executed by now, while people like Pelosi, Schumer, etc would be in jail.

Yet these people are out and about, every day, spouting lie after lie with impunity.

by making it an opposition to an ism, you allow people promoting that ism to claim any opposition is fascism

aka

why we're at this crossroads today

fasicm is a political movement/philosophy that can come into conflict with leftism when they are vying for power, the same as any other ism

fascism requires a particular definition independent of any other ism
