What has happened to the ACLU?

I have agreed and disagreed with the ACLU many times over the years, but I always thought that they were fighting the good fight and defending the constitution.
They are fighting for things now that are blatantly anti-constitution and it's not even debateable.
They have been co-opted by the militant left-wing and have thrown out even the guise of fighting for our constitution.

Its leadership got taken over my progressive academics more interested in pushing a social agenda than protecting liberties common to all Americans.

Agreed, I was lukewarm to the ACLU but over the past 2-3 years they've really engulfed by progressive bullshite.
Thankfully I've never supported them financially.

Yea, I don't give to political organizations of any sort, so that was not an option for me.

I used to be a huge fan of the ACLU. I thought they were a Libertarian Institute similar to the Cato Institute.
