It seemed we (republicans) had all the momentum, now it feels like it’s squandered and democrats are ahead in most polls? What was the turning point?

No one had any momentum, and polls are not relevant. It’s not a football game. Elections are not an ongoing event.

There wasn’t one. The “undecided” and “swing” voters are the biggest myth in US politics. They do not truly exist in relevant numbers for most elections. Voter turnout is what determines outcomes.
Polling changes because people taking the polls want them to change and/or skew their samples to bring about whatever outcome their benefactors ask for.

And oz is losing by 13 points, Vance is losing, Rubio is losing, Kari Lake is losing, Masters is losing, etc. my question is why? Are the polls wrong?

The thing that happened is all the MAGA endorsed candidates won their primaries and now will get destroyed in the general. Trump is still destroying the republican party like he did in 2020 at this point I wish he would go ahead and make his own party. It's just what he does. If he doesn't get what he wants, he destroys it for everyone else.

Oz is losing in polling and every other metric because he’s going to lose. Because he is an awful candidate.
Rubio is not losing in any polling average I have seen, or even close to it. He will win by 5% or more. DeSantis will carry Rubio across if Demmings somehow makes inroads in SE FL
I’m not spun up on AZ’s governors race but I assume Lake and Masters are married at the hip outcome wise. Masters is polling behind Kelly because of name recognition/incumbency bias and the lie that Kelly has artfully told that’s he’s a moderate.
Vance is safe in OH.
Quit paying attention to the media’s assessment of the races until early-mid October. Until then, they are wishcasting.

There’s a general lift among the left and the media because the Democrats passed the smaller Build Back Better/Inflation Reduction Act which is still massive in scale and is a leftist makeover of government and government policy.
It gives them a win, something they can use to motivate their base. They have been buoyed by it. They have also been inspired by the abortion issue and the Mar a Lago raid. As much as Trump inspires the right/populist, he also inspires the left in the opposite manner.
So they got a bit of tailwind recently that pushes their satisfaction. Also, Republicans are wholly inferior in terms of campaigning and politicking compared to Democrats. Democrats are just better at it.

You can tell on this board when the new dem talking points come out. All of a sudden it switched to the red wave isn’t happening. The propaganda machine is truly something to behold.
