re: What does a conservative Supreme court system mean for those in their 20s

Judges are not there to make laws.
Congress makes laws.
Executive branch enforced laws.
Supreme Court makes sure that the laws are congruent with the constitution.
The biggest problem in our current government is “regulation”. Basically agencies create rules with the effect of law without any legislative process.
Another issue is just “big government” in general. Most things should be left to the states as stipulated in the constitution. Our federal government is out of control.
Making additional laws from the bench is counter to our constitution.
This is where we need to be.
Conservative judges are a step in this direction.
The left is playing a "win at all costs" game. They feel their victory is inevitable so that they don't care how they get there. They are willing to water down the constitution and checks and balances for their benefit.
Having a constitution that means something (not anything or everything) is a step in protecting what makes this country great. "The great balance" because laws and amendments should be how this country is run. Not from the executive branch or from the courtroom.

I think it’s less about trying to change things and more about trying to keep the country from sliding into a socialist shite hole like the left wants to see
Conservative judges will preserve the constitution, how is that a bad thing?

Why do blacks fall for left wing media scare tactics so easily?

Will we see more planned attacks against gay marriage? I personally do not support it, but I do not care if gays or lesbians marry. I do not believe our courts should dictate who people should love. I respect the religious but stopping someone else happiness just to prove a prove is absurd. In all practicality, it would make the US no better than Saudi Arabia or any other ME country using Islam as an authoritarian rule. And no, I am not a Muslim.
Gays were never barred from marriage for as long as you or I have been alive. License is not required to marry in the United States. The gestapo is not going to come arrest Steve for marrying bill. It’s why the comparisons to Loving are so asinine. It’s about subsidy. Do we want to subsidize gay marriage?

A judicial philosophy is different than a political one.
These judges are not appointed to be a veto power over legislation that one political party or the other doesn't like.
They double check the rulings of the courts they supervise and interpret the laws that Congress passes, and, in some cases determines whether said law is consist with the constitution. That's it. They aren't moral arbiters. And they certainly aren't there to draft amendments to laws or the constitution.

Conservatives want less government involvement (when dealing with liberalism vs conservatism. Dont really count libertarians because I have yet to figure out what they really support).
Libertarians are just governmentally conservative but believe in a more liberal view of acceptance of others. Want to marry a man/woman? Don't care. Marry a tree if you want. Just don't judge me for my beliefs and sure as shite don't impede me from practicing them. Most practical conservatives these days are practicing libertarians.
Traditional conservative views are often hip-tied to traditional Christian views of society and its laws in conjunction with the bible's view of right versus wrong.

You sound like someone I don’t like.

Man, that was a painful wall of mess.

This is why I'm usually in favor of half controlling part of the gov't, half controlling the other part. Too busy screwing each other over to be bothered with screwing us over.

some balance of power is necessary to rule effectively.
I agree 100%. And that’s why you need a court that will uphold the law and not invent it. Conservative, constitutionalist judges. Activist SCOTUS judges have essentially unchecked power to legislate. Which is directly at odds with the Constitution.

Is the religious right going to attack abortion? Will SCOTUS realize that allowing states to end abortion will ultimately just lead to an increase in welfare dependence?
I've never understood this line of thinking. Abortion is morally wrong on its face, and a supposed secondary consequence for supporting it, doesn't change it's immoral nature.
One could just as easily say it's ok to murder grown adults that don't contribute to society because the world is overpopulated or any number of reasons.

It means rulings are will be made following the law, constitution, and data rather than feelings.

As much as I loathe abortion it will be a death knell of our economic system to disallow the procedure while also nurturing a welfare state.

They were barred from the legal construct of marriage, and all the benefits that being married carried with it.
There are a frickton of things you get from being married (ranging from taxes to automatic transfer of property upon death). Marriage, from a governmental point of view, is a contract between two consenting adults. It should be viewed as nothing more than that from the government's POV.
