What do you think the drones are for?

Tinfoil hat on: I think military is setting the stage for a coup to prevent Trump from taking office. It will occur on Inauguration Day. The drones will be to keep the civilians in line to prevent civil unrest.

Regardless of what they are, I have a very uneasy feeling about it. Especially after seeing other nations leaders refusing to abdicate power after elections yield a right wing victory. I think they’ll pull out all the stops to prevent their agenda from being sidelined by Trump

Yeah I haven't actually believed the act that has been put on since Trump won
These people in Congress, Kammy herself, Biden, TIME magazine, Morning Melt, all saying "see? We've committed to a peaceful transfer of power", after spending years telling literally the entire world that Trump is like if Hitler and Satan combined into one person. I don't buy it.
On the left, they're far too quiet. I don't think it's because "well maybe if we're nice, Blumpf will be nice too!" Nay, they're planning something. As usual. And yes, I 100% believe they will kill him, start a global war or stage a faux alien invasion or some shite to keep him from assuming the throne again.

I think it’s ultimately foreign influenced operations intended to test various aspects and limits of our government’s abilities, responses, capabilities, security, protections, etc (who knows the extent of various interests and curiosities bad actors might possess), and they’re doing it while they still can with the current feckless administration in power before it becomes a much, much more “perilous” endeavor when Trump comes back into office.
Obviously only one guess here from one anonymous fella on an internet discussion forum, of course. But I’m sure I’m right. When have I not been? Needless to say, I kid about that last question. Everyone calm down.

It’s the government testing new technology. They can’t come out and say “hey we’re about to impede on your privacy”. So they’ll conduct the tests, act stupid about the whole thing and then admit what they did after the fact.

I thought this initially since they were located over NJ, which isn’t far from DC. Like an overwhelming attack on Trumps inauguration. But now they’re being seen on the west coast too, so it’s something more.
I could see an attack nationwide. Something like targeting the grid to cause mass panic and unrest, leading to martial law and a military junta to “restore peace”
