Health care is not a right, neither are food, clothing, and shelter.

Imagine that all public defenders quit. Does that mean they are denying people their right to an attorney and a fair trial?

Plenty of so called "rights" guaranteed by the state require the state to provide for and protect those rights. Nothing inconsistent about that.

This is clever but begs the question.

Both of those can quite easily be taken away.

Not taken away.

Unjustly suppressed.

Human rights are intangible. As soon as someone tells you they have an inherent, a priori right to something tangible, they're lying.

you don't have a right to a lawyer. You have a right to due process. If for some reason you could not get any representation you would not be tried and convicted with no lawyer. There would be no trial

I believe an IPhone 7 Plus (specifically of a desired colour) should be enshrined as a constitutional right.

That's an excellent response. I didn't have the energy, and you put it better than I would've.

Even if you believe we should have universal healthcare, it's still not a "right".

this is the unalienable rights Jefferson spoke of in the DOI when he said "Life liberty and the pursuit of happiness"

When one decides to define life in a manner that suits them there will be disagreement about that definition.

Promote does not equal provide.

Human rights is a concept created by government to justify control over the governed. At a fundamental level, there are no human rights, only survival sustained through individual effort.

You have a right to not have the government interfere (take) your life, your liberty, or your ability to pursue happiness.

You most certainly do NOT have a right to have these things provided by the government.

Please go pick up a copy of the Federalist and Anti-Federalist papers and read them so you don't continue to look like a fool.

It is hard for me to get on board with guaranteeing anything that has scarcity as a human right.

That's because you have at least a basic understanding of economics and political theory.

Many in here do not.

It would be begging the question, but I'm not arguing that healthcare is or even should be a right. I'm just pointing out that the fact that healthcare requires a doctor does not preclude it from being considered a right anymore than the right to an attorney. All I'm saying is that OP's stated argument is a non sequitur.
