What comparable country is handling Covid-19 better than the US?

Now that Democrats are blaming Drumpf for both the virus shutdowns and the economy crashing, I'm just curious what country has handled this thing better than Orange Hitler himself?
Death rates per positive case in comparable countries are higher than ours generally and we also test more per capita than many of those countries.
Obviously mistakes were made, but like they say, "unprecedented times."

They’ll point to New Zealand and South Korea as models we should have emulated without taking into account a shite ton of factors that don’t make us equal and wouldn’t have made us equal in attempting to implement similar measures. Apples to oranges

How many comparable countries are there for this?
We’re in the top five for geographic space (behind China, Russia, and Canada for sure) and we “only” have about 350m residents.
China and Canada in particular have numerous high density population areas because large swaths of the country aren’t very habitable (too far north in Canada, in the mountains or deserts in China).
We have a high density area between DC and Boston but it is nothing compared to a lot of other countries.

A lib was telling me earlier that the United States is literally imploding from Covid 19 because of Drumpf so I broke some numbers down for him from Johns Hopkins and I haven't heard back in a few hours.

Why use such a small sample size?
For instance, why not talk about the fact that the UK has lost 70 people per 100k/population to the US's 51, or that the death rate per positive cases in the UK is nearly 5x that of the US?

There are no other countriea like us. We are huge and full of people on both sides of the political spectrum who have been told this is a "free country." You are not going to corral Americans, who are relatively rambunctious,for long.

Other countries only count people who died because of Covid. We count people who died with Covid. That's a major difference.
Of all of the deaths in this country from it, I would guess that less than 5% are people who died because of Covid with no preexisting conditions.
That's a major difference and it happens because we have financially incentivized this activity for some reason.
