That is actually untrue… BR was taking a ton of money from St. George and not providing services to it.

Hence why BR is losing so much money by this incorporation.

The article misses the fricking point then because the money is for St George and BR is currently stealing it.

A poor area stealing from a less poor area doesn’t make it right. Because frankly that poor area is poor BECAUSE the people there are too fricking lazy and shiftless to better themselves.

That is what it is all about. You are right but that will hurt Baton Rouge even more and will worsen the city even more in the near future.

And?

BR was given plenty of chances to fix things without it coming to this. And they not only refused but told StG to frick off and called them racists.

Hard to have any sympathy for politicians who fricked up that badly.

Like a said is an earlier post, my nephew lives in St George and they’re certainly not rich…

They’re middle class who just takes care of their family.

This is what I have been saying all along about forcing people to make the change and be educated and get a real job. The US will get a lot worse in the near future because no one will want to help fix the problems.
This isn't just a problem in Louisiana, it is happening all across the US.

I would see Baton Rouge become one of the dangerous cities in the USA in the near future if St. George breaks off from the rest of Baton Rouge

Wait until you hear about a thing called a city/parish government. It'll blow your mind.

Again, why don’t think St George should have been paying taxes to BR in the first place?

Why is it their resolution fund BR when they are not part of the city and the city provides them no services despite taking their money?

Show some balls and answer that

On no, they're fixing a taxation without representation issue. The horror!

That wont happen. They will just sit there downvoting and saying “Why be so mean by taking your money away from people who need it more?”

Why aren't politicians helping fix this and make America great again?

Historically, politicians have been very bad at solving problems. They do like to create them though

How did the Mall of Louisiana and the Siegen mall area get squeezed out of the deal? Was that some sort of compromise?

The City contacted the Mall and Siegen Lane Businesses and they agreed to be incorporated into the City of Baton Rouge. So Bluebonnet Lane on one side is in the City and the Other side as you head down I-10 towards Siegen Lane has an area that is part of East Baton Rouge parish unincorporated and would I think become Saint George but at Siegen Lane, the City limits takes in some of those Business areas.

then BR should vote in better leaders who will clean it up and make it a more appealing city.

The power is in their hands. They should use it.

If they won't do it, they only have themselves to blame.

City of BR convinced property owners there to be annexed into BR back when the city realized the St George vote was likely to pass

Sounds like some self reflection is needed by BR leaders. If the NAACP came out against it, yiu know it must be a good thing.

Baton Rouge had plenty of opportunity to avert this had its leaders operated in good faith. This didn't just spring up over night.
