Be pissed at the gay president all you want but we’ve had congress, the White House and Supreme Court for almost a year this go around and we haven’t done shite. The uniparty is all getting paid by Big Pharma and Big Insurance and we all get fricked.

I worked with people in the “healthcare industry” and it never failed that they saw more people involved with “healthcare” more often as a good thing.
Doesn’t it make more sense to search for ways to have less people have less involvement (ie, they are more healthy) with the “healthcare industry “?
But the real problem is that the “healthcare industry “ is about making money, and not making people healthy.

How did they pull this bullcrap over on the tax payers
RECONCILIATION
It was never passed as is, by the house and senate. It started off as a VA funding bill in the house. The Senate got it, stripped it of all VA stuff, and inserted 20,000 pages of bullshite into it. Then, because it could not pass 2/3 vote in the senate, it was pushed through via reconciliation.
Republicans tried to stop it at every turn, but, it happened under Obama. Democrats had a supermajority at the time. There was no stopping it.
Trump has since gutted most of it, but there are still lingering side effects to this monstrosity.

1) CARES Act
2) Obamacare.
Patriot act a close third.

I get the frustration people have with ACA.
As originally intended, ACA was to include the expansion of Medicaid eligibility, the establishment of health insurance exchanges, the requirement for individuals to obtain health insurance coverage, and the prohibition of coverage denial based on preexisting conditions.
The intent of Obamacare was and has always been, to usher in the single payer system. That is the end goal. Full government control of the healthcare industry.

What are you supposed to do if you didn’t have employer coverage or qualify for Medicare? You would do what everyone else did, including myself, which is walk into an insurance broker’s office and find an individual plan that suited your needs. Then, pay for it. My first insurance plan cost about 30$ a month in 1997 and had pretty decent coverage. People act like you couldn’t get insurance prior to the ACA which is factually incorrect. What people are really saying is they didn’t want to have to pay for it and wanted the government to help. Now, everyone’s premiums are skyrocketing to pay for the millions who get government subsidies and you can’t buy coverage through a private brokerage any longer. Nothing about the ACA improved coverage that wasn’t already available and it certainly hasn’t lowered costs. The only thing it did was drive millions off of private plans onto government plans for higher premiums and less coverage. As someone who has worked in the healthcare industry for 42 years, you definitely should know this. Everyone who is not uber partisan who has ever worked in a hospital for any length of time is well aware of the joys of government bureaucracy, it is an absolute joke. For example, a grammatical or clerical error on medical forms can result in non payment by the government. Medicare and Medicaid payments from the government are paltry which drives up expenses exponentially for employer funded policies. It’s not imaginary why an MRI or cancer treatment costs thousands of dollars now compared to just 20 years ago

The cost of health insurance is absolutely insane.
My school district plan came back at $1300 a month for my family for next year and that’s including and $835/month contribution from the district. fricking insane.

Pre 2010 only 20% of doctors worked for corporations. It’s now 70%. Regulations have driven up costs and people can’t go at it alone. So now you get to visit your doctor at a large hospital chain. Shits great.
And the docs toe the company line.

The Health Care industry will be taken over by govt soon, its inevitable. The costs are spiraling due to Govt intervention, so you know they will double down soon and make a power play.

Wrong.
Congrats on taking care of yourself. However, since you're now also paying the bill for everyone in the country who doesn't, you should be very damn concerned.
Try to use a single fiber of critical thinking skills next time...

Everyone thinks "insurance" allows them to stick their neighbor with their bills. Unfortunately, your neighbor thinks (and can do) the same.
