This is describing a police state, not a free state. It's not one I would willingly choose to live in.

The USA has a constitution that contains the second amendment. That second amendment is very clear and contains NO if/and or but conditions.
If anyone can not live in the USA within the constitution as written has the option to look for another country to live that better fits them.

The AK 47, as I see it in civilian form, is not an overwhelmingly potent rifle. It's not very accurate as a rule, although it's "good enough" at effective ranges like within 100m or so. The traditional rd, 7.62x39mm, is not what most folks call "high powered"; it's an intermediate level. It's still a 30 cal bullet, but lacks the ballistics of the old American 30.06, the older Soviet 7.62x54R, the modern 7.62 NATO rd (and it's analogue the .308), etc. It's sitting about where a 30-30 is, in terms of ballistics; greater than a pistol rd, but not something you want to take a bear or elk down with.
Now, the appeal of the AK is that it was the primary weapon of the Soviet Union, the main rival to the US in the Cold War; so it has some historical interest. That, and the fact that it's dead-nuts reliable and durable, and able to work despite all sorts of abuse.
And yes, it's also an effective anti-personnel weapon, not too large- thus a great home-defense option.

The problem is you don't understand the gov't so far has actually showed that they do not crack down on the criminal element and mostly use the gun laws against the everyday person.
example: felon tries to buy a weapon and is rejected, but he just broke the law but is almost never prosecuted!
example 2: You carry a gun for protection and get arrested for carrying a concealed weapon. Buuuttt a Thug robs a 7-11 and never has charges pressed for concealing his weapon prior to the robbery.
Double standard and not in a good way at all.
Despite what a "normal person" who wants gun control to do, unfortunately that is not ever why gun restricting law are ever passed for. The only reasons a senator or representative ever votes for gun control is to disarm the law abiding citizens.

I mean his OP makes alot of sense. Especially his narcotics point.
A good practical example:
We have a giant register of everyone who is on prescription drugs and in order to get them you have to be diagnosed by a licensed professional. To make sure you really need and can handle them.
Thanks to these two measures, America has no problems at all with abuse and sale of prescription medication.
Take opiods for example, a heavily regulated narcotic with tons of restrictions, a list of the owners, and outright bans on certain ones. America has never had an opiod crisis thanks to these measures.
I'm sure the same would work for guns.

This board is infuriating and full of redneck idiots. America is the only country on earth with crime and violence and its all because we own guns. And something like 99% of the violence is committed by white nationalist republican males.
But of course a bunch of racists on this site will try to talk about minorities and illegal immigrants as of they comprise 60-65% of all violent crime in the country despite only being about 20% of the population.
This is a racist rhetoric the right wing loves. But even the crime caused by minorities is white people's fault because of historical systemic institutionalized racism and oppression.
