Washington DC About to Elect It's First Democratic Socialist Mayor

Wasn't Trump talking about federalizing DC?
That needs to happen, pronto.
She'd make the current mayor (Bowser) look like Chip Roy.

We are watching the radical takeover of America... DC Is About to Elect Its FIRST-EVER Democratic Socialist Mayor - And Her Record Is Even Worse Than You Thought
Janeese Lewis-George just won the Democratic primary and is now positioned to become the first self-described democratic socialist mayor in Washington, D.C. history. This isn’t some recent conversion. She’s been deep in the radical left for years. She’s a confirmed DSA member who received their endorsement for her 2020 Council race. She beat an incumbent after being attacked for wanting to cut police in Ward 4 - and she won anyway. Black Lives Matter DC and Sanctuary DMV gave her their first-ever political endorsements, praising her views on policing and public safety. She’s also backed by the Working Families Party, Unite Here, SEIU, and the Washington Teachers Union.
Her record includes:
• Co-sponsoring a 2023 resolution to remove Cuba from the State Sponsors of Terrorism list and lift the U.S. embargo - cheered by CODEPINK, the DSA International Committee, and the D.C. Metro Coalition in Solidarity with the Cuban Revolution.
• Endorsing the Working Families Party’s People’s Charter.
• Speaking at Netroots Nation on DC statehood as “racial justice.”
• Standing with the “Progressive City & County Champions” alongside far-left figures like Dean Preston.
This is the same Janeese Lewis-George who supports ending MPD cooperation with ICE, backs expansive rent controls and “social housing,” and has aligned with the anti-Jewish wing of the left (refusing events that “promote Zionism,” early ceasefire calls, and staff ties to BDS-style content). America, this isn’t “progress.” This is the red-green axis taking over the capital city. A DSA-backed socialist with a history of pro-Cuba radicalism, anti-police rhetoric, sanctuary policies, and open hostility to Israel now has a real shot at running D.C. No mayor in D.C. history has ever been this far left. Not one. If she wins the general, the nation’s capital will have its first democratic socialist mayor- and the consequences will ripple far beyond local politics.
This is how it starts. Don’t say you weren’t warned.

Vote your way in; have to shoot your way out.

Washington DC should be federalized. It should not be an independent city, with the problems that come with independent cities.
It should be a crown jewel of America.
It should be a crown jewel of America.

Urban areas continue swinging way left.
Rural and suburban areas keep moving right.
Gonna be an interesting few decades.

Going to be interesting when the rural and suburban areas quit supplying the urban areas. Especially ones with east choke points like bridges.

It’s a classic Catch-22.

If the feds can't run a 700k city, then they really must suck at running a country

On the plus side, Congress will have to live with the mess they're creating for the rest of the country, at least part time.

Did she really win?
Or, did she “win”?
Did someone behind the scenes tip the scales in her favor to capture another city?
Or, was the promise of free shite enough to fool the voters?

Most major American cities will continue this trend. There will be more elected radical Democrats and the decline will be historic. The ONLY way these cities continue to survive financially is to have total political Democratic control at a national level - that's the game we're currently playing.
