Say what you will about what he said or didn't say. But Biden looked more with it and together last night than at any time in the last few years.

The Dems had a good amount of prep time and money to work with. They didnt have to put their addled candidate up in front of thousands of convention attendees..

Is there any chance that we saw the first "Deep Fake" political speech last night? He was just way too polished and there is no way I believe he could hold it together that long.

Some people keep saying it was a spliced tape but it didn’t appear that way to me. He overall read the TP quite well IMO. I think it was a moment of lucidity for him although you can on,y be pumped so full of drugs

He was most likely jacked up on a special drug cocktail comprised mostly of the cocaine he was recently accusing a press member of taking and being an addict.

You should go to YouTube and watch Ronald Reagan’s speech at the 1992 RNC. It was vintage Reagan, as he stood behind the podium and read from the prompter with total command of the audience.

He was 81 at the time and had been experiencing significant cognitive decline. Of course, he would be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s a couple years later.

Since Biden will not be campaigning over the next couple of months, the only way to truly measure his cognitive function will be to hold debates. Who knows if that will happen.

Jesus people, go back and watch the Democrat debates.

Biden has slipped sure but he's not the drooling fool Trump is making him out to be.

It's a mistake for Trump to lower the expectations of Biden.

Biden was terrible last night but that's just Joe Biden of the last 40 years.

But if you expect him to drool on his chin, it's going to look like a win when he doesn't.

Biden will be terrible off script but let people see it for themselves.

Biden has been a gaffe machine his whole life.

If he drools, that's a bonus but it's always a mistake to lower expectations of your opponent.

He has access to Hollywood's best directors and editors.

Could have been rehearsed for a few days. Then a good take laid down. Then audio sweetening cut in to repair any stumbles.

There was nothing outstanding in the speech. But he escaped looking senile - maybe with a little help from his friends.

Get out with this stupid shite. He's not doddering. If you convince yourself that he is a 100% mess, you're creating a skewed image. He read a teleprompter, no "fakes" needed.

It’ll be a shame if debates don’t happen — a travesty really.

I use a teleprompter glass with my camera behind it to make presentations and key training videos. When I train with it over two or three days, I record myself. I find words and phrases that sounded good in my head, but don't flow out naturally in my speech. So I make changes over and over until it comes out naturally and doesn't sound like word salad. It helps.

No it's just that the you've bought the narrative that he can't form a sentence without drooling all over himself. One of many false narratives conservators have bought. Ahem, Qanon.

It's easy to look lucid when you've a teleprompter in front of you with a speech you've had weeks to practice on your basement and you're giving it with no one in front of you.

The debates will allow Biden no such refuge.

Especially when the guy on your team has gems such as this:

“Look, having nuclear — my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart — you know, if you’re a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I’m one of the smartest people anywhere in the world — it’s true! — but when you’re a conservative Republican they try — oh, do they do a number — that’s why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune — you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged — but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me — it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are — nuclear is so powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what’s going to happen and he was right, who would have thought? — but when you look at what’s going on with the four prisoners — now it used to be three, now it’s four — but when it was three and even now, I would have said it’s all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don’t, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years — but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us, this is horrible.”

I believe there are certain drugs you can administer to people with dementia to give them periods of lucidity. I also recall reading that those drugs while allowing for moments of lucidity are not often administered because they are very detrimental. It would make sense, the far left only need the Trojan horse that is Joe Biden until January, after the his running mate will take over.

He is in early stages of dememtia. He can deliver speeches like this without issues. Recall that he has maybe one flub per 2-3 unscripted interactions. He's not a disaster yet.

When it comes to debates, he's going to do better than most of you think. He'll have a plan and discipline to handle any difficult topics. He'll probably be given a few catch-all phrases to whip out when needed.
