quote:the Ga. seat has been held by the GOP for almost 40 years, and they won it 4 months ago by 23 points.
This win will give the senate & house gop members proof that the country has not turned on POTUS and Trump will not drag them down in 2018
they lost 18 points in 4 months to a 30yo who has never held office before.
but please conservatives, please go right ahead and learn absolutely nothing from this.

Maybe the McConnells and Ryans of the world will now have the confidence to move forward on tax reform.
They have no reason not to move on tax reform now.
Which means I fully expect them to do nothing.

One more thing----when Scalise is healthy again he will have a window IMHO to assume the speakership if he wants it.
Maybe if the Speaker of the House, the federal government will get off their arse and approve the Ms RIver sediment diversion channels before Alexandria La becomes ocean front property.

"While I like the vote-porn columns as much as anybody, I wish posters would not present stuff like this as "WAPO says..." as if it came from the editorial board. Just because they are published by WAPO (or any other MSM outlet), Op-Ed's, Columns, and Blogs are not "the voice" of said publication."
This happens a lot on this board. I saw the same thing with respect to a WSJ op-ed yesterday or the day before. I guess as people read actual newspapers less often, they lose sight of how a paper is structured and what the articles are.

What time were your talking points emailed to you?

A salient point for me was that the Dems couldn't find anyone better than John Ossoff - in all of Georgia - to provide $35,000,000 in campaign funds to. Bizarre.
It's not bizarre at all.
Look at their bench. Whack jobs, racists and sexists.
That works in true blue districts but you're basically fricked otherwise.

But wait, we were told this was a Trump-Slayer Bellweather race. And a very average Pup out performed Trump. Exactly when can Pubs claim victory? This is all very confusing....

this is VERY irrelevant
that seat was held by a long-standing incumbent
i don't think the DEMs even tried to run a real race
a better measure was the Nov 2016 Pres election, and the DEMs lost ground iirc

I guess you guys have got to take what victories you can get.
It's a pathetic look though.

Once again they unwittingly "normalize" what they seek to discredit

>spend $30M on a district full of people you don't give a shite about
>lose
>all of you get pretentious and smug about it to save face
you clowns will continue to fail because you do not change.

It is interesting that the dems have obviously been spending money on convincing women once again they are victims yet none celebrate the election of a woman to Congress.
I don't think many women view themselves as victims so unless you're slow or crazy you don't fall for it.

The Democrat who ran in '16 didn't spend a dime and got 40% of the vote.
30m for 7%, nice job.

i'm just speaking about the incumbent election and its gap
the DEMs didn't even try or spend any real money in that election. they just had a nominal candidate
that + incumbency bias explains that huge gap and doesn't relate to this election at all
