This. It's dumb as hell. Especially the "we were kings" shite. Because, no, they weren't. Certain black people who stood at the very top of the hierarchy in certain areas, were kings or queens. All the other black people in those areas were basically peasants or slaves.

I'm a descendant of European peasants.. in that era, white kings were everywhere. Imo.. Even my peasant ancestors wouldn't be shameless enough to say they were kings, let alone me, a few hundred years later.

I guess I can see why someone at the bottom of their fish pond (mostly self-inflicted, and still far better than much of the rest of the world) might fantasize about being robbed of their destined greatness, but the only real obstacle between where they are and success they could be proud of is their attitude. Fix that, and fix your circumstances.
