Inheritance tax is the most evil, unjust tax that exists. It is 1000x worse than any complaints about taxes or tariffs by the founding fathers.

So far Viveks deeds exceed his words.

And that’s not a good thing.

He can say anything. His actions are what matter .

The issue isn't taxes. The issue is runaway spending on military expenditures and social services programs. There's no balanced budget amendment. Give them more taxes or not, the government will continue to spend like a hard dicked sailor in a whorehouse.

So what possible gain is made by taxing the estates of "rich" people and where is it counterproductive? Use farms as an example. Land cost has skyrocketed, causing immeasurable harm to the family farm. This affects generations of long term farms and people like Bill Gates and other corporations swoop in like vultures and gobble up the pieces to satisfy the government. What purpose does this serve? Well, if you're a globalist, you think this is great. If you're a farming family, you're fricked.

It doesn't take much land to exceed the value of the exemption, these days.

This guy is a cross between Bobby Jindal and Barack Obama. No thanks. If you want to pay more taxes you have every right to do so. Now if you want to build a toll road to make my life easier I’ll gladly pay the toll. I want a service for the money. As it is now the unfunded liabilities of our government has costs out of control and true service returns abysmal.

Ah yes, the perfect is the enemy of the good approach to governance. Because no one tax can ever fully redress the massive costs that older generations are imposing on future ones, we shouldn’t even bother making things incrementally better. Classic.

Well considering I hey claimed “losses” and paid less taxes than a McDonald’s cashier I don’t think so bud. While I am very skeptical of this, it affects the only the top .1% and they never pay taxes to begin with so I don’t see it as something that y’all can be that butthurt about

Ok so i am in favor of taxing you at 90% of your current wealth because well, just because I think you shouldnt be that “rich”. See how that works? And who defines “rich”?

There’s a difference between taxing someone who is actively producing out of 90% of their earnings and taxing heirs of 59% of their wealth over the first 11 million. Like this won’t be effective. Rich people will just transfer more of their wealth while they are still living, but I can’t imagine giving a shite about billionaire failsons. If you aren’t a ceo and your father was a billionaire, you have failed and frick you. The world doesn’t benefit from the Bushes, Clintons, and Kennedys having unlimited generational wealth.

No. A conservative would say, let’s not give Ukraine 75 million and let’s pay down the debts we voluntarily chose to accumulate

I assume you’ve set up a trust named the government as the beneficiary? If you want more taxes the government will take a check.

Tragedy of the commons

I’m willing to graze my cow less if everyone else does the same so that we can maintain the long term viability of the field. But if I’m the only one sacrificing, my cow fetches less at auction and the field dies anyway.

There should not be any inheritance tax whatsoever. I also believe that there should be no taxes on IRA's, 401k's or any kinds of retirement savings even the profits when you withdraw them. We need to make it to where it will be absolute insane not to save and invest for your future and retirement.

Vivek is a strong conservative by this measure.

We should minimize taxes on productive people who merit their earnings, and tax the shite out of undeserving people who get handed money.

Why?

Why does receiving the money from someone who wanted to give it to you mean that it belongs to the state? Take me through your logical thought process here.

And I am rich.

Yeah, I figured you either had to have a lot more money than I do or a lot less. Those seem to be the groups who buy into nonsense like this.

Money I make belongs to me, do do with what I want. It doesn't belong to the state to then decide how much of it I get to keep depending upon what influence they want to have on society. That's the fundamental principle we differ on.

No, somebody who knows that people are gullible would say that.

If VR doesn't know anything else, he knows that. he keeps pushing those buttons as fast as his fingers can push.

So conservatives don’t support paying off their debts? Conservatives are in favor of taking out a second credit card for the purpose of paying off the first, costs be damned? Because I’ve always viewed that as far more of a selfish liberal characteristic

That isn't really what you're advocating for here. You're advocating for an extremely small percentage to pay a ridiculously unbalanced share for the mistakes of the rest.

It gets far more damaged by central attempts at social engineering. The world doesn't benefit by Bill Gates having a 50k square foot house either, but that shouldn't matter.
