Nah he was definitely wrong. There isn't a one-size fits all approach to life. I guarantee there are people with $10 to their name that enjoy life far more than Vivek. Trying to get rich & being a worldbeater is also a great recipe for burnout, workaholic syndrome, and regrets over missed opportunities and lost relationships. People, especially people on the freedom-loving right, don't want to be told how to live their own lives. And the arrogance with which he communicated his message was a massive turn off.
Normal people want sleepovers & fun more than they want to be billionaires, and that's just fine, same as it being just fine for the Viveks out there to work 100 hours a week as investment bankers trying to get rich.
