Because why not?

quote:

Emory & Henry College in Virginia has announced to students the school will re-examine its wasp mascot (i.e., a bug) as it may be “exclusive” to students who are not White Anglo-Saxon Protestants “WASPs.”

This is as fine an example of attention-whoring cloaked in virtue-signaling as I've ever seen. They are talking about changing their mascot not because the name might be offensive to White Anglo-Saxon Protestants, but to people who are not.

With that thinking they should just change their mascot to the Emory & Henry Amorphous Blobs.

Not that that many minorities can find their way past Meadowview, which is also a lovely town.

Admittedly neither Emory nor Meadowview has an urban downtown....

University #1 Team A vs. State College Team B in the Postseason Bowl Game presented by BLM will be an awesome watch in 2025.

We've reached teh point when people in charge OF A COLLEGE cannot differentiate between AN ACRONYM and an INSECT.

These people should not be in charge of.... anything.

Washington State and U of Houston are next because they don't want to be exclusive to those who aren't horny old white women.

Prepare to be disappointed: The university's own words on their own website (mouse-over to see the link).

quote:

Conversations must examine how Emory & Henry’s past has contributed to current and ongoing systemic oppression. For example, discussion should be renewed regarding College’s mascot, the wasp, and the impact of this mascot on inclusion and diversity on our campus.

Sadly, not a satire article.

Georgia Tech. You are officially warned. Change your anti-Semitic mascot.

quote:

While the survey was conducted in May and June, an additional anti-Semitic element has come up over the last weeks as a result of the so-called “yellow jacket” social-protest movement against taxes imposed by the French government. The movement has led to extremely violent clashes between protesters and police, especially in the center of Paris. Most violent clashes erupted Saturday around the Champs-Elysées.

The Chabad House located on Champs-Elysées temporarily closed its doors last Shabbat for the first time in decades.

quote:

At least several protesters in the “yellow jacket” movement have posted videos with anti-Semitic content. One far-right activist invited people to protest a Chabad menorah-lighting during Hanukkah, claiming that while France was suffering Jews were busy celebrating.

The inmates are running that ideological asylum. It's amazing how much useless crap nit-picking fools can conjure up.
