In fact, I wonder if something like that isn't at the root of the problem for all of these misfits.

I swear when I first saw him today I immediately thought of a kid I went to school with who was a loser mommas boy who ended up becoming a hard arse cop.

Please tell me there’s a readily available clip of this.

Ranger school is not easy but he isn't a "Ranger". This is a running argument in the military and I tend to fall on the "Born in the Bat" side as I lived it. Probably partial I know.

I didn't suggest he was a "Ranger", however, I don't think that drops him down into a weakling that Karla saw getting wedgies (of course in an inverted position as he was getting his swirly).

Centinel. Wow. Most SRs will give a center mass when folks get out. I was artillery. In Germany mid 80s. Had a 1LT CESO come from Bragg. He got caught screwing around. His wife was active duty, and her Dad was a General Officer. He was taken off the CPT promo list, shipped to Germany and tossed. He was the best officer in the Bn. The Bn CDR cried at his farewell. Bad arse.

How the hell does he become a Lt Col?

Promotion to Lt Col is almost automatic with clean record...you just might get promoted after your peers...

Most good Senior Raters will annotate in the enumeration language that implies that, were the individual not leaving the military, he would get an MQ. For example, my Brigade Commander gave his NSC Commander an enumeration of 7 of 30 but an HQ block check.

It takes an extremely rare individual to not only annotate where he thinks his subordinate is, but put the correct block check in regardless of the potential fallout. I suspect that was also the BDE Commander's way of sending a message to the Company/Troop Commanders.

To be fair, I still think the BDE CDR had a metric ton of top blocks to give in his profile somehow.

And I will say the SCO loved me for some strange reason. Maybe it's because I kept social media, streaming sites, ESPN, etc. running during the deployment. I had connections in the SATCOM world

I had the same thing as a junior CPT. I was getting out 2 years into the box check and my last OER (even knowing I was leaving) was MQ. My BN CMDR loved me but even then I was stunned. I’m surprised even now. I’d never heard of anyone else getting that.

I’d assume it’s a bigger deal when you’re up for MAJ or LTC now. I still appreciated the statement though.

His name didn't happen to be McKean, Bontrager or Vitor did it?

I had a Bontrager as my BDE CDR back in 2012. He was a badass.

We are suppose to believe that he told the president of Ukraine to watch out for Russian meddling, but then he admits that he was never alone with the Ukraine president to begin with, and two, why would a low level person like Vindman’s opinion even matter?
He certainly has an inflated sense of himself and his position.

One would think anyone born and raised in the Ukraine would have a pretty good idea to watch out for Russian meddling.

This tard thinks he’s waaaaay more than he is.

It’s the same thing with the Hollywood types who have an overinflated view of themselves and their opinions.
Think of who these people were in high school? Drama club geeks. And now they have fame and power, but still a chip on their shoulders for being previously shunned.

I was BG Bontrager's J6 when he was the Commander of TAAC-South in 2015.

He was not happy that he got pulled 6 months early to go to Drum but accepted it. As far as I know, he decided to retire right after he ended up at CENTCOM. I guess even the best get to the point where they've had enough.

What do you think happened to him to turn him into the partisan hack he seems to be now?

*Just my opinion.*

I’m talking about Paul Bontrager not Mr. Vindman.
