The bottom line is there was no reason to shoot and kill her. She was not a deadly threat. She was surrounded by cops and wasn't brandishing a weapon. She was just shot because he was climbing through a window. Was she wrong? Yes. Should she deserve punishment? Yes. Should she have been shot and killed? No.

Please tell me everyone agrees with this.

I don’t either. I just can’t really have sympathy for someone advancing through the capitol building ignoring people with guns pointed at you.

The more you say it out loud, the worse of an idea it sounds.

At some point you have to blame the police. They were MINGLING with the rioters in that stairwell. They were standing right there and making no attempt to detain anyone - despite the fact they were all armed with what look like M-4s.

Yeah, I was telling some other people that the capitol police really fricked up and this honestly all looked like it was staged.

They didn’t really even attempt to stop this mob that they knew was forming. There was no contingency plan. No non-lethal attempts at disbursement. They KNEW it was coming. Just bizarre

The video halfway down the page is a shortened version of the one I saw last night. There’s 4 or 5 policemen standing around Ashli. 5 more left right before this video starts.

The inaction by police for the 30 minutes leading up to this is truly bizarre

is it possible she didn't know there was a cop with a gun on the other side?

Guess its open season for law breakers.
I hope antifa and blm are ready to man their riot lines again.

Why not fire a warning shot at the bench? I just don't get it. I am sure he was scared, but if you possess a firearm and are part of a police force, you have to be better prepared than that. She was dumb for doing what she did, but there is no reason she should be dead.

I guess the full story will come out at some point as to who or what he was protecting.

The only thing that makes sense is that they probably thought that the crowd wouldn't be violent. Up until yesterday most of the Trump rallies and MAGA rallies have been peaceful (Not including the Antifa/PB fighting).

They probably thought they would just show up and yell then leave.

I agree.

And if you notice at the end the DC cop points his rifle at him like WTF and had to wave at him like dont shoot anymore.

Yeah I guess. Given how they reacted to actual riots, they probably were happy to not have molotovs thrown at them.

That's what I don't understand. They were standing there, doing nothing, while rioters were actively trying to break through that barricade. Their inaction led to that woman getting shot.

Regardless of the circumstances, I'm not going to aggressively advance on a LEO in a volatile situation who has a gun pointed at me and hope he doesn't shoot.

That’s my opinion. The officer was off to the side out of her direct line of sight. She was shot as soon as she hit the window frame. It’s not like she was walking around inside or ran towards an officer pointing a gun at her

This one shows the woman jumping through the window, INTO the area of armed police pointing a gun at her
No, it doesn't. If she had jumped through the window into the corridor, then how did she fall back into the crowd? And there were armed officers 5 feet behind her. Regardless of one's opinion on entering the Capitol, this shooting can't be justified.
