No he shouldn't. He should be tried for 2nd degree murder

If the Secret Service is onsite they are protecting the Primary, regardless of if they are in the next room or not. You don't know what that hall was or who was in it at the time. The Secret Service would also be protecting more than just the VP in this instance as they are also protecting the line of succession.

quote:Right, it seems obvious with that latest angle on the newer video they were guarding the shite out of that hallway.
Were they simply supposed to let her come through the door they're clearly guarding?
Also seems obvious no one was going to be allowed to walk down that hallway.
It's the US Capitol for crying out loud, you can't just assume you can walk anywhere you want in that building during a time of chaos that you yourself was a part of creating.

The shooting was completely uncalled for....that being said, isn't this usually where you folks would post something about stupid games...if it were a liberal, of course?
She should have been aware of the fact that there was the potential for being shot, just like anyone resisting arrest should be aware of the potential for being shot. Pretty simple

Only if there was someone important that guy was guarding.
That room or person could be 10 halls down, but that doorway was decided to be as close as anyone was allowed to get.
quote:Probably not, but it does seem to be the last spot those protestors were allowed to be, not 1 foot into that hallway.
I extremely doubt there was a "Primary" in that room or down that hallway as just about everyone who means anything was led down into the basement and sealed inside.

Yeah. That’s not a defense either.

With who? The police were right there in the stairwell with her, fully armed, not doing or saying anything. They were actually watching while the rioters tried to break down that barricade and get into the hallway.
Do you need someone to literally read you a statement to inform you that you are not allowed to break into the United States Capitol building and then try to force your way past barricades that are right in front of armed guards pointing guns at you?

Just lmao at people calling for this cop to be tried for murder. Different situations and completely different reactions. She was literally busting/jumping through the window. How is he supposed to know what her intentions are. It was chaos outside of that door

Shooter certainly appears secret service ordered to secure the parameter (corridor). In a fluid situation as such, real time communication isn’t available across the law enforcement spectrum. Secret service would have highest level and authority to secure and protect. VP more than likely was still in vicinity and his detail had been ordered to secure and protect him. That door/barricade was the threshold. Capitol police seen on stairs behind her were not privy to parameter being secured, as evacuations/relocations were happening and changing in real time. Secret service is a completely different training and objective than civilian law enforcement.

And the right would be saying good shoot if it were BLM or Antifa.
In every case, far more antifa and BLM should have been shot than actually were.
ETA: Could you please give an example of antifa/BLM ever being shot by police during a similar situation?

Once again...you're making assumptions.
Point is, it's a logical assumption that may be true. The folks saying they saw the video and they know 100% it's a bad shoot are wrong, because of assumptions like that.
They don't know if it was a good shoot or not.
quote:They were pretty clearly way outnumbered.
why weren't the police (who were in that stairwell with the rioters) detaining the rioters attempting to break through the barricade?

You are assuming this guy was Secret Service. We have no evidence of that. Just as I don't know who or what was in that hall, neither do you. Now I don't know if you actually know what you're talking about or if you just got done reading a Tom Clancy novel, but if the Secret Service did indeed shoot this woman they did a piss poor job of coordinating with the police - which is kinda their job.

It's almost like we're forgetting it was a bunch of protestors who breached the US Capitol and thought they could go anywhere they wanted in that building.
