These dudes don't shoot warning shots. I'd almost wonder if it's against their policy to even shoot a warning shot.
Yea, frick a warning shot. If you've decided on shooting, you're shooting to stop a threat. Warning shots con ricochet and do all sorts of stupid things, on top of being a waste of ammo

"Play stupid games"
"Just comply"
"Don't be a criminal"
I see these sentences on this board every other time someone gets shot. But I'm not seeing it much regarding this one.

Regardless of one's opinion on entering the Capitol, this shooting can't be justified.
She should have complied.

The shooting was completely uncalled for...
I disagree. Could one of them taken her down and arrested her? Sure, but there is a mob behind her. Removing one of the officers to arrest her would have put everyone else at risk.

I think people would be surprised by the rules of engagement for the Secret Service while protecting a Primary.

With who? The police were right there in the stairwell with her, fully armed, not doing or saying anything. They were actually watching while the rioters tried to break down that barricade and get into the hallway.

The people saying this was a justified shooting are the same people who cheered that couple getting arrested for simply standing in their own yard with guns
Were they simply supposed to let her come through the door they're clearly guarding?

You are assuming that is what they are doing. I highly doubt Vice-President Pence was in that room or down that hall. Just about every member of Congress was escorted to the basement and sealed inside. I'm pretty sure Pence would have been down there with them.
But I'm sure you'd also agree there's probably some spot in that building that is the very last spot they decided and potentially something already known in their plans that no one would be allowed to cross. Maybe that was the spot?

The bottom line is there was no reason to shoot and kill her. She was not a deadly threat. She was surrounded by cops and wasn't brandishing a weapon. She was just shot because he was climbing through a window. Was she wrong? Yes. Should she deserve punishment? Yes. Should she have been shot and killed? No.
Please tell me everyone agrees with this.
well, I understand your points but if you are warning a person and aiming a gun directly at them
and the person ignores and resist and keep coming, I mean, ....shots get fired
law enforcement happens
civilians no matter how mad or angry, you can't just storm in there, armed or unarmed

This part of the story is very odd, and we will likely never get a good explanation for why this happened the way it did.

Only if there was someone important that guy was guarding. We have no evidence of this and I extremely doubt there was a "Primary" in that room or down that hallway as just about everyone who means anything was led down into the basement and sealed inside.

This seems like a decent possibility. But if that was the case, I feel like they would have had a bigger visible presence at that spot. That would be my strategy anyway.
How they were this unprepared is just something i'll never be able to really comprehend.

If they shoot, it's for center mass. They can probably detain if there isn't a risk of being overrun.
Homeboy shot a little high for center mass eh?

The shooting was completely uncalled for....that being said, isn't this usually where you folks would post something about stupid games...if it were a liberal, of course?
Yeah, watching the police all over the country kill BLM/Antifa protestors while they were burning cities and killing civilians...
Oh wait...
That never happened. In fact, in many cases, the cops were ordered by Dem leaders to "give them a space" to riot.
Anyway, carry on.

The bigger question is, how in the frick are our Capitol police so weak that they allowed these people in the building in the first place?
You complain about weak police ... but they when they finally stand their guard and don't let the rioters advance further you get upset.
You can't have it both ways. Once she goes through that window - so will others. She wouldn't be by herself. At some point, you have to make a stand.
She was a dumb shite for even trying it.

Once again...you're making assumptions. If a red line was drawn at that barricade, why weren't there more armed men standing around warning people to stay away? Also...why weren't the police (who were in that stairwell with the rioters) detaining the rioters attempting to break through the barricade?

quote:You're correct
The leftwing media would be up in arms about this if she were BLM or antifa.
And the right would be saying good shoot if it were BLM or Antifa.
The sooner we learn that both sides have zero want to strive for objectivity, the better off we'll be.

Well she was unconscious as soon as she got popped then.

She's climbing through a window, he takes a step forward as he's trying to aim, and it's a handgun. I can see why he hit 6" above his target.
