I actually feel kind of bad for Joe. He's a 78 year old white guy who's been in DC politics for 48 years. He isn't cut from the same mold of today's modern liberal. But he's trying to pigeonhole himself into being that candidate and running a modern progressive campaign. It just doesn't work, he's not comfortable with it.
