re: Vance's solution to the rising cost of child care...

Capping Childcare Costs: One of Harris' major proposals is to cap childcare costs for families, ensuring that no family pays more than 7% of their income on childcare. This would significantly reduce the financial burden on families, making it easier for them to afford care.
Universal Pre-K: Harris has supported universal pre-kindergarten education, which would provide free early childhood education for all 3- and 4-year-olds. This policy would help alleviate childcare costs by providing public education options for young children.
Tax Credits for Childcare: Harris has supported expanding tax credits for childcare costs, including increasing the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit. This would help families offset the high costs of childcare by reducing their overall tax burden.

If you would like to have an intelligent discussion, he goes on to say "if you (parent) don't have that extra set of helping hands (grandparents/relatives)" then the government has to find a way to cut the bureaucracy to allow the supply of competent caretakers to increase. Greater supply creates a more competitive marketplace, which, presumably would lower the costs.
However, again, for the sake of discussion, please feel free to share your solution to address the issue

My grandmother would look after me and my brothers all the time when we were kids. What exactly is unrealistic about Vance's suggestion?
My father retired at 60. Him and my mother spend their days taking care of the ins and outs for their grandkids so their kids can be productive individuals in the workforce.
High 36 O-7 retirement isn't a joke my brus and when stacked with a State retirement it makes life quite easy. Multiple combat tours and additional pay for disability make it even more lucrative as well as additional retirement vehicles that were created in the 80s-90s (ROTH) that will never be touched until death.
My advice to everyone is to plan better. I've seen very few plan better than my father. No one has any excuse to fail because he came from zilch.
The point is grandparents should be doing all that they can to help their children and grandchildren but due to lack of self-control, drinking, drugging, no financial consistency they are still working and thus costing their offspring more money than it had to.
By the parents not planning and being solid the whole foundation is rotten.

You missed the 2nd part of his answer. This was part one of his answer.
The second part of his answer was to have less certified people looking after our kids?
Thats not a solution either. He has no idea what he's talking about.

Unpossible according to the idiots you vote with.
Boomers are all rich and retired, counting their money while they laugh at us.

Vance is a bad grifter who's still, despite himself, locking in the idiot vote.
You are seriously going the “grifter” route after a Biden presidency and a Harris-Waltz ticket? You are really going there?

You are supporting someone who is selling bibles with his name on them and digital trading cards. The grift can't get any lower over there.

The clip is 1:27. Did it take him that long to say the one sentence you quoted or did you intentionally ignore his full answer to create a fake narrative?
If you have to rely on dishonesty to promote your candidate and attack your opponent, then maybe you are backing the wrong candidate.

Anyone who calls him a grifter that doesnt know his life story is seriously spreading propaganda.
This is a fact.
Hes a better man than 98% of us.

Oh I gotcha he wants less trained people watching our kids with less regulation making them less safe at daycare, more prone to abuse and neglect.

He is exactly right. We as a society need to stop pushing kids to move away from family and educate them about the benefits of being married and raising kids NEAR family. The divorce rate would plummet and the quality of parenting would drastically improve.
I get this as a theoretical issue, but is everyone just going to move to urban areas now and make these metropolises even more powerful/crowded?
That's where the high paying jobs are

What are your thoughts on his FULL answer to the question? Not just the clip you used to criticize him?
Posted on 9/5/24 at 10:36 am to rwestmore7
So why didn't Harris and Biden do all these things when they were in charge?

Have taxpayers pay to take care of your children
How about lowering taxes and increasing credits so people get to keep more of their own money. This was teed up for Vance and he beefed it.

Is he really though? It's how things were done in the past when we had families and the world was alot more stable back then. Of course we could print alot more money to hand out. That fixes everything.
Maybe he is more in touch with reality than you are.
Dang. I see almost everyone beat me. I guess I should have read y'all responses first.

How is that out of touch with reality? Talk to some black people for once. You might realize how many of them were raised or partially raised by their grandparents. Imagine thinking that family members helping each other out in life is "out of touch with reality."
You fricking moron.

You had the kid, guess what child care, parenting, feeding them, clothing them etc etc etc IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY NOT THE GOVERNMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
